D-III All-Americans Watch

Re: D-III All-Americans Watch

Any names to throw out there for player of the year?

I would have thought Mickey Lang would be in the discussion until Manhattanville's second semester slump.

All of the Conference Player of the Years will be in the discussion meaning:

Josh Harris, Castleton
Matthew Wallace, Hobart
Jeremiah Ketts, Johnson & Wales
Jordan Oye, Fredonia
BJ O'Brien, St. Norbert

I believe those are the only five conference player of the years we know so far. Still missing MIAC, MASCAC, MCHA, and NESCAC.

From that list, hard to imagine BJ O'Brien wouldn't be the front runner for the award.

Re: D-III All-Americans Watch

EAST UPDATED PROJECTIONS:

1st TEAM only:

F.Josh Harris, Castleton
F.Jordan Oye, Fredonia
F.Eric Satim, Plattsburgh State
D.Kyle Shearer-Hardy, Bowdoin
D.Steve Rizer, Fredonia
G.Kevin Carr, Buffalo State

I don't see Carr making first team goalie. Other than that, this isn't bad. Personally I feel Stefan is better than Harris. But, Harris will probably get the nod especially now that Stefan is out for the rest of the season. Satim will also likely be on second team and not first team IMHO.

Do you have your updated AA predictions?

Re: D-III All-Americans Watch

Do you have your updated AA predictions?

This is starting to get brutally hard.

Here's my shot at the two Eastern teams

First Team:

F.Josh Harris, Castleton
F.Jordan Oye, Fredonia
F.Daniel Weiniger, Bowdoin
D.Joe Houk, Hamilton
D.Kyle Shearer-Hardy, Bowdoin
G.Paul Beckwith, Oswego

Second Team:

F.Pier-Olivier Cotnoir, Norwich
F.Jeremiah Ketts, Johnson & Wales
F.Eric Satim, Plattsburgh
D.Steve Rizer, Fredonia
D.Nick Dupuis, Skidmore
G.Darren McDonald, Elmira

The forwards are getting very very tough. It's tough to leave guys like Ian Boots, Kevin Willer, and Dennis Zak off.

Probably would have been easier if certain teams would have won their semi-final games last weekend?

Just curious Derek, what happened to Schroeder in this poll? I thought you had him ahead of Cotnoir alst time?

Holy SUNYAC, Batman!!!

Oh, wait. Plattsburgh fan with 26 posts over 3.5 years. SUNYAC overdose explained. :D

In all seriousness, SUNYAC will get 2, MAYBE 3, on the First Team in the East.

Here's how I predict it will shake out:

First Team:
F Josh Harris, Casteleton
F Daniel Weiniger, Bowdoin
F Pier-Olivier Cotnoir OR Jordan Oye, Fredonia
D Kyle Shearer-Hardy, Bowdoin
D Steve Rizer, Fredonia
G Paul Beckwith, Oswego

Second Team:
F Jordan Oye, Fredonia OR Pier-Olivier Cotnoir, Norwich
F Eric Satim, Plattsburgh
F Stuart Stefan, Castleton
D Joe Houk, Hamilton
D Nick Dupuis, Skidmore
G Darren MacDonald, Elmira OR Kevin Carr, Buffalo State

MacDonald and Carr are somewhat of a toss-up to me, but I give a slight edge to MacDonald.

It's one or the other. I don't think Norwich will get both. It's really toss up between the two on who should get it.

HAHA your probably right about the SUNYAC overdose!! And Satim being on the first team is just a homer pick. Kid definately deserves AA status but will probably end up on the second team.

Overall stats not conference stats are what is considered for AA.

Re: D-III All-Americans Watch

Of course the irony in that is most all conference selections only consider conference play.

Exactly.

Jenna McCall for the Elmira women's team either last year or two years ago ranked 6th in the country in overall points, yet was ineligble for AA because she didn't make the all-conference first or second team.

Any names to throw out there for player of the year?

Out west you would have to strongly consider Chris Berenguer of Hamline University. Already a two-time AA and maybe three-time. Not to mention a great role-model, student, husband and dad.

He's the whole package!
