Man I get a kick out of all the play Ouellette posts! He has played 1 game vs. UCONN and people are calling for him over Sullivan and Sirman? Never ceases to amaze me how the most popular player on a hockey team is the goalie that is not playing! Ouellette will get a chance, and it may be tonight. But Sirman has played well this season and Sullivan has been a huge surprise to all of us who just thought of him as the last man in.

Regardless of who starts in net tonight I'll leave it to the coaches, they are at every practice and they know who is prepared. All I care about is getting another W, and if Sullivan continues to let in just 2 goals a game i like our chances!

I agree. Every HE game is sooooo important. Sully IMO, gives us the best chance to win at this point. Ride that horse. I want wins and i want the goalie that is hot and can deliver those W's. I don't care about the "you have to play the others so they have experience in case Sullivan gets hurt" crap.

It's not like Sully has been spectacular and he's being put on a friggin pedestal. He's played solid, period. When he makes some Jimmy Howards saves then I'd say he deserve his elite status. Yes, we could ride Sully the hole season. Can anyone say Matty Lundin?

On what pedestal has anyone put Sullivan And where has anyone compared him to Jimmy Howard?????

All were pointing out is that right now he has played well, and the team has played well in front of him. And the so frequent refrain we hear of Matty Lundin. Do you watch other teams in the league? At this point what team is rotating their goalies??

BC- Muse did not play tonight, but he has virtually played since he arrived.
BU- Milan is seeing most of the rubber
UMASS- Danton was hurt and now they are playing a freshmen
VT- Madore all the time
UNH- DiGi hardly played at all his first 2 years and now he plays them all
NU- Rawlings
Providence- Beaudry
Merrimack- Cannata

Oh wait Lowell is rotating, and how is that working?????

Maine is winning, until Sullivan gives you a reason to pull him he plays. Everyone crying about Ouellette is insane at this point. He will get his chance, but every weekend is so important in Hockey East. Enjoy Maine Hockey for a change instead of griping about a goalie not playing!

Yeah, I guess the way Sullys playing right now its hard to argue for a rotation. Thats pretty much the end of that story. I'd prefer a rotation, but if he's durable enough, he's the guy until proven otherwise.

Really? The kid gives up EXACTLY 2 goals a game. Maine is avegraging something like 4.33 gpg. He was outstanding in the 1st and 2nd period tonight. He's getting it done. He doesn't need to be elite. He needs to keep doing what he's doing. I'll put him on a pedistal as long as he keeps winning!

Maine played one goalie last year, and the year before and the year before, how'd that work out when Darling went out? You need to keep someone else sharp, not saying Sully isn't the man cause I think he is right now. He has a good temperment and seems to take mistakes in stride

Another ugly game, NU lining 5 guys up on the red line. Maines first PP line and first line in general played with little or no emotion tonight. Gus is truly frustrated and seems to be somewhere else at times. Joey Diamond continues to be the man, he was getting killed out there tonight. He seems to be the only one who make some room for himself on offense. Sully played well once again. Good to see Santa get a goal but man he can't skate. Hats off to NU they played their hearts out this weekend.

I couldn't disagree more. Nyquist creates oodles of space, not just for himself but for others. It's just not going in the net for him right now, but it will.

Well you can play what if's all season long Wally. But is it worth a loss (or losses) to keep another goalie "sharp"? I don't think it is. Reason being, you play the other two for a game or two a piece, say they both lose. Then you go back to Sully, now you have 2,3,4 losses on the books you may not have had if you stuck with Sullivan. Now Sully goes down and you go back to plan B and rack up a .500 record till he comes back. Well the 3 or 4 losses you gave up trying to keep the staff sharp bites u in the arse. They are getting enough reps in practice to be sharp if called upon. Look what Willy did when needed last year.

Sullivan has played quite well so far this year. I have seen no mention of putting him on a pedestal or many comparisons to Howard. As a freshman he has stepped up and given Maine a chance to win each night, giving up 2 goals or less each game. He has played two games on the road in tough environments, getting the win at the Gutt and helping Maine to tie at BU. Hard to argue against playing this young man or giving him props for the way he has started the season.

No one can argue that Sullivan has played well. Your not going to find another goalie keep his composure the way he does. I do think he is very fortunate to be playing for Maine and that Maine can put up enough goals to give him wins.

Bob, nice list of Hockey East goalies. Eight HE goalies have a better save percentage than our goalie and I could care less what other teams do.

Maine hockey has always had the best goalies in the league.

Always ??? I can think of a few other goalies that would refute that statement young fella. I take it you never saw Chris Terreri Some kid from Boston named Mouse or Moose currently wearing two NC rings. Thiessen? If only he had had some help. Its a fairly long list, but your point is made, though not expressed quite right, eh?

Speaking of Grant, I wonder how he's spending his days. Gotta believe he misses the ice and kids quite a bit....seems tuff to walk away from it all as dedicated as he wuz. Maybe he doesnt miss the locker room stench one bit. Izznt it about time that the Bears pay him a special tribute or has that already been done?

I'll definitely take that over the last few seasons of up and down goaltender play. Pretty nice thing to have.

The reason it screrwed up when Darling went down was because the guys backing him up weren't very good, not because they hadn't had playing time. Doesn't appear to be the case with the backups this season.

I'd say Sully has already given us as good a performance as Darling, maybe even Bishop, ever did. And so far, none of the duds.
