Crazy Cronin vists Timid Timmy Nov 12 and 13 How many more Maine injuries?

Re: Crazy Cronin vists Timid Timmy Nov 12 and 13 How many more Maine injuries?

There WAS that time a police officer was between him and a ref after the game...

Wasn't that after there was a police officer between the ref and Soares?

Edit: Ahh yes. January 13, 2007. Curry couldn't keep the net on the ice and Scotty Hansen was being an idiot. I recall thinking, "How are you shooting after the whistle if the whistle is for offsides, which you aren't until you touch the puck, which you do when you shoot it?" Then, the story goes, Scott Said something awful to Josh. Josh told Scott he'd see him in the parking lot. Scott tries to follow the team (and Josh) through the tunnel. He is restrained by a linesman. Timmay, already ****ed, goes over to berate Scott. Someone restrains him.

Yes....According to Tim, the reason he went over to the door was not to berate the ref, but in fact to "help him fit his head through the door." One of my favorite Whitehead quotes.

Scott Hansen didn't officiate any Maine games for awhile after that fiasco. I suspect the Commissioner received a phone call or letter from the Maine coaching staff.

Justin Daniels returned from injury last weekend which is big for NU because he helps balance this team down the middle.

Are we sure he's back for good? He seemed to re-injure his ankle during the game and skated off heavily favoring one leg. I didn't notice him on the ice the rest of the game.

I hope the Alfond is nice and full, doubt it though.

Re: Crazy Cronin vists Timid Timmy Nov 12 and 13 How many more Maine injuries?

Good result, awful game to watch. NU was lining 5 guys up on the red line all night, boring. Maine started out well, first 10 minutes Maine was taking it too them, last 10 of the 1st Maine rolled over and played dead. No doubt they thought NU was going to be a cakewalk but NU didn't. Sully looked OK, the 1st goal was a deflection and puck changed directions. The 2nd goal was a brutal rebound, he'd like that one back. Diamond played a great game, as did Dimmen. I hope they realize NU is for real and come out tomorrow like they want it

sounded from the broadcast that sully may have stepped on a strap on the first one, fallen and by the time he got up, the puck was already on its way past him... of course, dan and larry both thought the puck had cleared the zone as well just prior to the shot but wasn't seen by the refs...

The 1st goal was right in front of me, he fell, got up and was back in position(or almost anyway), the puck changed directions off a Maine and/or NU player. Sully wasn't quite on the post and it went in high. No doubt the misstep screwed him up but I'm not sure he was out of position. The 2nd goal was his fault for sure. Either way he played well and made the saves in the 3rd he should have. He is pretty calm in net, not alot of extra movement. He was getting hacked at after Maine went up and he took it in stride. Others might have *****ed at the refs, Sully kept playing like nothing happened.
Should be interesting to see who's in net tonight.

Sully will be calm in net because thats the way he is. I would imagine thats a quality Whitehead likes. As long as we score he can give up two goals a game but I'm thinking we could say the same for the other goalies. I'd like to see Ouellette play.

they did mention it hit someone and redirected... they just made it sound like he was not set, and deep in his net as a result... either way, a bit flukey and those will happen from time to time... he responded well and sounds like he came up with some big saves when needed... dan and larry said that it was a terrible rebound that he kicked right back into the slot on the second and that they felt he'd like to have that one back...

i agree that he is very calm with the lack of extra movement back there... very efficient... very composed... i had not seen him play until watching the second nodak game (thanks again, btw) and was amazed at how calm he was...

Re: Crazy Cronin vists Timid Timmy Nov 12 and 13 How many more Maine injuries?

Finally made it up to alfond, HE circuit complete.

From an NU perspective I thought we played pretty well, we gave up a lot of shots but not too many were scoring chances, a couple of plays stick out that we got a lucky bounce and a pass didn't connect to a Maine player who would have burried a shot into the back of the net. Our powerplay looked good, obviously 2 goals but we had good puck movement and generated a lot of chances in addition to the two scores. Once Maine scored that 3rd goal, we seemed to run out of steam, as if we had been trying to hold off the blackbears all period. much better than the past 2 weekends, hopefully we stay out of the box tonight.

Re: Crazy Cronin vists Timid Timmy Nov 12 and 13 How many more Maine injuries?

YES play Ouellette 2night.

Sully played realy well last night and kept the Bears in the game early. The first NU goal after he fell might have even grazed his shoulder but he wasn't completely back in position. I would be surprised if he didn't get the nod again tonight. I go with Sully and if not, Shawn. Ouellette is odd man out right now until a injury or a game meltdown occurs. The puck did not cross the blue line.

J Daniels is still out. Just walked by him on my way into the dorm.

Re: Crazy Cronin vists Timid Timmy Nov 12 and 13 How many more Maine injuries?

YES play Ouellette 2night.

Man I get a kick out of all the play Ouellette posts! He has played 1 game vs. UCONN and people are calling for him over Sullivan and Sirman? Never ceases to amaze me how the most popular player on a hockey team is the goalie that is not playing! Ouellette will get a chance, and it may be tonight. But Sirman has played well this season and Sullivan has been a huge surprise to all of us who just thought of him as the last man in.

Regardless of who starts in net tonight I'll leave it to the coaches, they are at every practice and they know who is prepared. All I care about is getting another W, and if Sullivan continues to let in just 2 goals a game i like our chances!
