As soon as the blue actuals line started to point down, the pols came under pressure from businesses and morons, re-opened, and the red trend line picked right back up, halfway down that diminishing blue tail. A perfect experimental demonstration of human stupidity.
2M cases. Didn't realize. Two million. 2,000,000.

So in the sake of looking this data up WRT a cruising board- it's interesting how hard it is to get the data from them, and it seems almost impossible to get the deaths by day stat- I can't seem to even come close to find it. The cases per day is in an over 1000 page report, not on a quick to see page. https://floridahealthcovid19.gov/
(the amusingly sad part of me looking that up was someone didn't believe it because CNN said it, which means all is fine.... so I pointed out how easy it is to just look the information up from the source.)
Follow up to my own post- now people are claiming that it's all about the additional testing. Ok, that's a reasonable statement.
But it also means that the virus is not anywhere near going away. If so many people are being tested positive every day, the virus is spreading. Stick you head in the beach sand all you want. More positives isn't good news.
Think of it this way. The entire rest of the world has twice as many cases as we do.
The entire rest of the world.
I feel like the Trumpsters are the ones who would refuse a vaccine anyway, or think they don't need it (like they don't need to be quarantined or wear a mask) so I don't know how well an October surprise vaccine would go over right before the election.
no way a Trumper would refuse a vaccine that Trump pushes.
Iran re-opened in mid April. You'll never guess what happened next.
