Saw today that the contract for maintaining the national stockpile of this stuff was allowed to lapse sometime last year, and was only renewed with another company in January. Hence the rotted masks and non-functioning ventilators. because there was no one to tend to them for months.
I feel the same way in my job. A lot of my coworkers have the same thought: It’s just a matter of time before it starts spreading through our warehouse and ramp.<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">“We’re definitely spreading it”: Flight attendants fear they are losing the fight against the coronavirus <a href="https://t.co/huzYxZFCg9">https://t.co/huzYxZFCg9</a></p>— TIME (@TIME) <a href="https://twitter.com/TIME/status/1246200266896158720?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">April 3, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
I have a good friend who is a flight attendant and she is very worried right now. She actually has a cold right now so she is grounded for a bit anyways but it sounds pretty bad right now.

We had a mini-revolt this week and a bunch of our people said "f-ck the company; if they're not going to guarantee we get our Mod Time made whole when this is over, whatever, I'm not dying for these as-sholes."
And these were Dumpies.
Of course they couldn't make the connection between the company being sociopaths and what corporations have to do under capitalism, but it's a start.
These same guys were talking to me about Fauci (because they found out he's Cornell and they think we all know each other I'm not kidding) and they said "what kind of a person would make threats against him?"
They genuinely do not know what Fox and Hate Radio have wrought. And these same people were saying "this is a hoax" and "the overreaction will kill more people than the disease" and "the Democrats are exaggerating this to undermine the President" just last week.
My company admitted today we’ve lost multiple doctors/nurses to covid
not good
Tokyo appeared to have a handle on the Coronavirus. Combined with the news of the now delayed Olympics and it being Cherry Blossom time causing more people to gather together, Tokyo has experienced an explosion of Coronavirus cases.
Did you ask them, "what were you guys saying about this virus just last week? Those are the kind of people who would make such threats."
