Saw this today.

Stay calm. We only lost 10 million jobs in two weeks and over 12,800 lives. It's not like we lost EMAILS or 4 lives in Benghazi.

I think we can agree the awfulness of being halfway to losing 30K people pales in comparison to losing 30K emails.

So I just realized something. My company mandated we take 50% of our vacation by June 30th this year. Weird date, but more on that in a second, you'll probably see where this is going. We get our vacation allotted in full at the beginning of the year but also can't carry any over. My company also prorates vacation if you start later in the year. I just remembered that they also prorate upon severance. So going back to that June 30th date, I'm almost certain layoffs will occur on or plus/minus a week of that date. And there is going to be a lot of them. So now, since we've taken half our vacation, the company doesn't have to pay a ****ing dime of accrued vacation if they terminate you. ****ing ghouls these people.

Dammit mods.

Mostly, yes. Although I think you have to give some credit to countries like South Korea and Japan. They seem to have the culture to actually put in place and enforce lock downs and not have idiots running around claiming it's all a hoax or that the modelers don't know what they're doing. Much more emphasis on the common good and a lot less on individualism there. I mean, Tokyo's a more ideal place for a virus like COVID to spread than even NYC with their packed subways, but so far they seem to have avoided the worst *knock on wood*

You know those slant eyes are the submissive type.

That's fu**ing cold. And a really far away date (that's still three months away).

My company has said:

No hazard pay.
JUST sent out PPE
Drive time compensation has been cut from $12/hour to $10/hour.
If you work over 40 hours, you get penalized.
And they also told techs if you don't want to work at this time, you will lose your case.

As much as I like my coworkers and my supervisor, that's enough. I'm looking for another opportunity.
