Re: Covfefe-19 part 6: Waiting For Advice from Kid Rock and Tiger Woods now.

MN is extending the stay-at-home order to May 4. Walz giving the presser now.

Re: Covfefe-19 part 6: Waiting For Advice from Kid Rock and Tiger Woods now.

Walz is excoriating Louisiana and Michigan without saying the words. He’s noting our doubling rate vs. those states and why people actually observing the SAH order has been working.

US could pass Italy for deaths by Friday. Of course, China's real numbers are way higher than what they reported.

1500 deaths reported so far...20k new cases.

To be fair Italy's probably are too.

But then again so are ours.

Yeah I can maybe see that. The landscaping businesses especially.

The other one was my roof. We had been planning to get a new roof and deck for several months now. What happens if my roof starts to leak? Also how am I going to get a HELOC to pay for it? I can live without the new deck, but the roof might not be negotiable.

Golf courses can get in line with everyone else. We don’t need golf courses open.

In NY, emergency home repairs are allowed.

And apparently landscaping. My neighbor across the street had some over to cutdown a bunch of trees and shrubs last week. But the town still hasn’t picked them up...

Re: Covfefe-19 part 6: Waiting For Advice from Kid Rock and Tiger Woods now.

So the top 8 countries by deaths today are all the US and Western Europe. I think at this point it's a map of functioning state bureaucracies. Everybody's dying everywhere but we're the ones with our acts together enough to count them.

Mostly, yes. Although I think you have to give some credit to countries like South Korea and Japan. They seem to have the culture to actually put in place and enforce lock downs and not have idiots running around claiming it's all a hoax or that the modelers don't know what they're doing. Much more emphasis on the common good and a lot less on individualism there. I mean, Tokyo's a more ideal place for a virus like COVID to spread than even NYC with their packed subways, but so far they seem to have avoided the worst *knock on wood*

I mean, this always happens in a pandemic. I noted yesterday how the total H1N1 deaths in the US tripled after the fact when the CDC did their analysis. The big difference between Italy/Spain/US and places like China and Iran (and probably Russia) is that they are likely intentionally hiding higher numbers of casualties that they know exist - and they are deaths that are unlikely to be discovered by the rest of the world after the fact.

Yes. South Korea, Japan, Singapore all brought the hammer down and it worked (because of course it did, it's not magic). Freedumb means be proud you didn't knuckle under to the statists as you bury your child.

I heard on the Beeb this morning that Slovakia and the Czech Republic are experimenting with the same tracer cell phone technologies China is using (green and red stoplights as to whether you can travel based on your condition and risk factors). We'll see (1) how that works and (2) how that goes over in a Western culture.
