Did anyone in authority see it coming and do anything about it?

Heads rolled (Kimmel/Stark), but the politicians, including Frank Knox, didn't. And, after some gloomy months, we started to win.

I know, like, my house isn't on fire right this minute, so I can totally disband the fire department.

Re: Covfefe-19 - Part 4- Stay the **** Home

Friend of mine has just posted about their ordeal with getting this virus in CA last month. Said it’s like the flu but 10x worse. Cough so hard they saw stars, chills that nothing could abate, and being too weak to walk across the room.

Re: Covfefe-19 - Part 4- Stay the **** Home

This virus is so weird. It ranges from "meh, have the sniffles" to "ZOMG DEATH." I don't know what to make of it, which is a pretty common theme since we've never seen this strain before...

I hope we figure this sh* out.

Re: Covfefe-19 - Part 4- Stay the **** Home

At the end of the day, the CDC epidemiologist post in China getting cut probably wouldn't have made a huge difference. The CCP controls what foreign officials see and have access to, and even if he had gotten word back to Washington, Dump has already proven he would not have listened anyway.

Add it to the list of all the other stupid sh*t he's done. *shrug*

I don’t know how I’m going to make it through the next several months. Either the virus or anxiety is going to get me.

Take the precautions, do what you can. There is nothing more you can do. Once that is accepted, you'll feel calmer.

Are you really comparing Donald Trump to FDR? Seriously?

Re: Covfefe-19 - Part 4- Stay the **** Home

According to two different sources Wisconsin has over 6200 negative tests and 380 positive. That's around a 6% positive rate. It seems like if we're still only testing those with symptoms or those who were in contact with those who tested positive the numbers are not horribly bad. I see numbers like those and just wish I had a better understanding of it all, and wonder what else is coming. I also wonder if we can go back and check out the people who died of the "flu" or something related last year in November or December and see if maybe they were actually infected with COVID-19.

Re: Covfefe-19 - Part 4- Stay the **** Home

Of the 169 confirmed positive cases in Minnesota, 34 if them are healthcare workers. Not a fantastic rate.

It at least makes some sense. Closest to infected. It sucks, no doubt, but we're not left wondering why, you know?

Uh. That’s an alarmingly high number.

It makes me think we’re sitting on a giant reservoir or something is wrong with testing (procedure or materials)
