I don't want to say names since she wasn't listed. Cornell had a player transfer in last season, but she had to sit a year. I would have thought she would be included with the recruiting announcement.
I thought transfers were immediately eligible?
I believe the issue is her previous program wouldn't sign a release. As result, she was required to sit a year. Had they signed the release, she would have been eligible to play right away.
I'm a little slow with this but....
Congrats to Alyssa Gagliardi on the invite to USA Hockey's 2011 Women's Festival!

10 players! Good luck and congrats to them all!
It really speaks volumes to how far the team has come. I can't wait for this season to start.![]()
I knew there was more than one reason a coach from the Upper Ottawa Valley showed up in Rockland. Also congrats to Campbell, Cudmore, Fortino, Jenner, Karpenko, Mazzotta, Rougeau, Saulnier and White on being invite to Hockey Canada's U-22 development camp!
Thank you for the info. I for one like some risk taking on the blue line...as long as it isn't taken to an extreme.

The girl from Awkwesane NY probably also considers herself to be Canadian.
Roster has been updated to include Erin Barley-Maloney (transfer from Vermont), the player I mentioned earlier.
22 Erin Barley-Maloney F 5-5 Sr. Raleigh, N.C. University of Vermont
Curious about the "Sr." label. While she might be a Senior in class, my recollection is that she is an 08-09 recruit, and only played two years at UVM (08-09 and 09-10). Would have thought that from a Varsity Eligibilty perspective she'd be a "Jr". Did I miss something ?.
I believe the issue is her previous program wouldn't sign a release. As result, she was required to sit a year. Had they signed the release, she would have been eligible to play right away.
Have to agree 100%. If a player doesn't want to be there...whether that's with the team or just at the school in general, why anyone would refuse to grant a release is beyond me. Everyone loses under those circumstances IMO.Vindictive, if you ask me. (I know, nobody asked). I don't see what's gained by withholding a release. Actually, I think there's a far more to lose in the long run by doing so. Make prospective recruits think twice about the program, not to mention the potential damage done by ill will created. The hockey world is VERY small.
