But
The judge seems to see how she could have.

Just another reason to defenestrate everyone over 50 in Washington.

The judge is being overly cautious. Manson never got his trial reversed and the friggin President of the US said he was guilty during the trial to the Press.

Waters should get reprimanded by Congress though. I like her but you don't get to spend months attacking the GOP and Trump for incitement and then condone one of your own inciting violence.

The judge is being overly cautious imho. Manson never got his trial reversed and the friggin President of the US said he was guilty during the trial to the Press.

But you can't hold a whole police department responsible for the behavior of a few, sick twisted cops. For if you do, then shouldn't we blame the whole policing system? And if the whole policing system is guilty, then isn't this an indictment of our governmental institutions in general? I put it to you, USCHO nation - isn't this an indictment of our entire American society? Well, you can do whatever you want to us, but we're not going to sit here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America. Gentlemen!

(cue the kazoos!)

If he gets up, we all get up, it'll be anarchy!!!

(sorry was the first movie quote that came to mind)

The people I hear analyzing the Maxine issue are saying that they may use it in an appeal but it's not going to work.

Since we only have reporters' retelling, for all we know the judge said it in a dismissive "for god's sake save it for your appeal" way.

I don't blame the judge or the prosecutors or anyone associated with the trial. I think they've done an admirable job given the pressures they are under. In fact, from their standpoint, I don't think they could have done anything different. If this trial had been held in Duluth, for instance, I believe the same outside factors would have been brought to bear.

I really just blame us as a society, and the politicians and media.
And yet, your inane blabbering on this board about how unfair the trial was is beyond reproach, and not at all indicative of how fucked up "us as a society" are.

She didn't say a thing about violence. You can 'confront' without being violent.

Its not like she stood up there and said "today's the day we start kicking ass and taking names", or "we need trial by combat"

Stop doing the Repub's handwringing for them.

Oh please. If Trump said the exact same thing you would be ripping him to shreds and you know it. She wants the reaction she is getting and she welcomes the rebuke she will get. I am not saying throw her out of Congress but come on.

What she said though doesn't strike me as a reversible error though. What is the argument that the jury felt threatened to either convict or watch the world burn? Guess what they know that.

My employer is evacuating its buildings. The court delayed the verdict reading for that very purpose.

This has to be guilty. THere's no way 12 people agreed to find him innocent in under 24 hours. Literally zero chance. It was either going to be weeks of deliberation resulting in a mistrial or a fast guilty verdict.

Otherwise this shit is going to get UGLY.

Actually I was kinda surprised at how relatively benign it ended up being once I found an article that printed her quote. It wasn't good, but I was expecting something like "We will be burning shit down until we get a guilty verdict."

But of which charge?

That it wasn't "murder one" will incite those only half-paying attention.

No it wont. It wont even incite the ones who didn't pay attention at all and cant even get the charges right.

I am sure (assuming this isnt an epic trolljob by the jury) that some will be upset with any conviction. That isnt about the charge though that is about the entire situation. If people riot cause he gets Murder 3 then they would have rioted if he got anything less than The Chair.

Normally it wouldn't be a big deal but in the post 1/6 world things are just different. Most of the Libs I know aren't pleased with her. (which again she wants)

The judge is just overly sensitive.

I expect the majority of the deliberation was upon which charge they found him guilty. There can’t be any doubt that Chauvin killed Floyd, it’s just a matter of which charge best fits their understanding of the experts’ testimonies.
