Cops: No Snarky Nor Positive Title

No the State of Emergency was the right call 100%. You rarely get a chance to make a move like this days in advance and it is better to protect everyone including those outraged. If they waited until today to do it Louisville would make Kenosha look like an Occupy Wall Street Drum Circle.

That's the thing. If you are going to f-ck the community over you had better hide all your stuff, first.

I wouldn't be surprised if the calculation here is to incite violence to save Mitch's seat.

Between these farce charges and the settlement, it feels like an effort to placate everyone was made. The settlement keeps the family happy, the charges keep the protesters happy, the lack of murder charges keeps the PD happy. Instead, now everyone is PO’d and the city is likely to explode.

One sad thing is they forced a no-knock warrant through because the address Taylor lived at didn't meet the requirements. They issued warrants for 3 or 4 different addresses looking for her ex-boyfriend whom they knew didn't even live with her. Now she's dead and despite a dozen witnesses testifying they didn't announce they're going to go free? And people wonder why the police are losing favor and there are demonstrations that people have freaking had enough.

What do you mean about hiding stuff? And, who is doing the calculating? Mitch’s seat is fairly safe.

And yeah, I’m definitely not a cop defender. No doubt there are good cops out there, just doing their jobs like they’re supposed to, and no doubt the media plays this sh-t up because it gets views, but the numbers don’t lie. Black people are getting killed at far higher rates by cops than white people. This is a systemic issue that needs to be rectified.

I mean Goldman Sachs locks up their secret hoard of Nazi gold so blackie don't get his mitts on it.

The German ones, since we have to distinguish now:

I'm guessing that none of you SJW's on here have ever served on a grand jury before? Here's a quick link that might give you some helpful insight into the general process ...

https://criminal.findlaw.com/crimina...jury-work.html

In short - rules of evidence are way more relaxed, and a unanimous decision is not required to charge. Those rules get tighter at a formal trial if a charge is brought. The burden of proof is then "beyond a reasonable doubt" to a unanimous guilty verdict.

If folks aren't charged, it's virtually always because the evidence doesn't support the charge.

Does anyone really think the DA ignored the grand jury's advice here?!? If he did, that information would find a way to leak out faster than water into the post-iceberg Titanic.

The grand jury knows more about the case than anyone here, and any of the rioters in Louisville.

FACT.

The non-stop, temper-tantrum, virtue signaling got two officers shot yesterday. Congrats.

Ignoring the incendiary garbage from Chuck, the fact is that it's likely that these police offers mostly complied with the law and that's why only one was charged with such a seemingly minor crime. This is, in no way, any defense of their actions. In fact, I find the actions reprehensible and I'm disgusted that there aren't criminal charges.

The laws need to be changed. No-knock warrants are horrible, but even if they were banned, what's to stop the police from "knocking with the battering ram"? Or knocking 1 millisecond before kicking in the door? All of this needs to be on camera and there needs to be a thorough review of any shooting.

I used to reflexively defend the police. I cannot now. They have ceded anything approaching the moral high ground or benefit of the doubt. Systemic change needs to happen.

This is a great post. I agree with all of it.

Even a philosopher king policeman, in a city with these laws and this incarceration ideology, will wreak havoc.

Protect the police by reforming the laws.

So, in a nutshell, you're saying (1) Chuck is annoying because he dares to disagree with the herd mentality on here, but (2) actually Chuck is probably right because the officers "mostly" complied with the law, however (3) I'm still gonna virtue-signal my displeasure because the grand jury should ignore the law, and just do what the angry mob wants them to do.

How'd I do?

I assume Natty Boy is talking about how Liberals want cops to die or some such nonsense...so just to put it out there:

Even me, the person who is super anti-cop right now, does not want cops shot or killed. Death is not the answer to the problem and it certainly isnt justice.

It appears to me that with only witness saying the Cops announced themselves before opening the door that something is very fishy. They were supposed to announce. And it appears to me that if they are announcing properly the whole fucking block should have heard them coming.
