Cops: No Snarky Nor Positive Title

The 3rd was notorious when I lived over there. Even the White People didn't trust them but for sure the minorities didn't. A lot of rather unsavory cops got transferred there over the years and their conduct was well known to be intimidating and downright criminal. I have heard some pretty bad horror stories...especially from Latinx people in the area.

Conversely the cops I knew when I worked in a bad part of downtown were much better respected. We used to have the local beat cops come into our store all of the time and they were friendly with everyone not just the workers. It was much closer to community policing than it was to intimidation. They treated the people with respect and for the most part even the criminals treated them with respect. The beat cops never acted angry or scared in the 3 years I worked there and almost all of our clientele had records many with violent felonies.

I mean, when the 4th is held in higher regard, well...

Oh no they walked off because the public started saying mean things after becoming fed up watching citisen after citizen be mistreated while so many "good ones" say by and did NOTHING!

If you know my posting history you know I have often come to the defense of the police and tended to give them the benefit of the doubt.

in this case screw them. They were not defunded. They did not have any resources taken from them. They were not prevented from lawfully performing their duties. However during a time of crisis a fed up public said they demand more.

Sack it up and do your job. Serve and protect. Expose your violent and lawbreaking colleagues. Change the public perception by serving the community and not yourselves. I have zero sympathy for anyone thinking they're one of the good ones but quit because times got tough. That's your effing job.

Aurora police are full of heroes.

but oops we shouldn’t call them out, might hurt their feewings and we don’t wanna do that do we.

“An officer with the Aurora, Colo., Police Department will be suspended without pay for 40 hours and required to attend de-escalation training after pulling his gun on an Indian American doctor who was parking at his own workplace.

“It’s not enough,” the doctor said. “That would never fly in the business world — I’ve terminated employees for less. The police pretty much have free rein to do whatever they want.”

I'm sure the cop thought he had found himself a dirty Messican.

I've got an idea. Let's stop hiring herpa derps for our police departments.

The grand jury in Breonna Taylor’s case is reporting its findings to the Jefferson County Circuit Judge at 115p EDT, with Kentucky AG Cameron speaking at 130p EDT to discuss the findings.

One LMPD officer, Hankison, charged with three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment. The other two apparently charged with nothing.

This is like a drunk driver running a stop sign and fatally running someone over in the process. And only getting a ticket for running the stop sign....

I dont even think psych is gonna defend Louisville on this one...

So, what this means is if your home is invaded by a no knock warrant you you or someone in your home fires a gun to protect yourself or your property from an unknown intruder you and everyone else in the home can be shot and killed with impunity.

You’ll have to clarify what I’m looking to defend. I put a smiley face at the end of that sentence, but I guess no emoticons work anymore. Oh well. :)

Emoticons dont work...need to go to like 1998 emoticons like :-( (add the nose)

And what I meant was whenever people criticize Kentucky you rush to defend them. (as it is your home) I am giving you credit that you wouldnt here. This is an epic cluster[bleep] and if they dont figure something out in like 4 hours Louisville is gonna burn.

Stand Your Ground While Black is null. Castle Doctrine While Black is also null.

It's going to burn.

Thanks for the pro tip. I can’t even use an emoticon right anymore, much less multi-quote.
When you first said defend Louisville, I thought you meant defending Louisville’s decision to shut down the city, try to limit the protesting to a certain area, and have the National Guard on standby in case s-it goes down. I have no problems with any of that, and even though protestors were never going to stay in a confined space once this lack of justice was announced, I think it was the right move to try.
Kentucky is my second home, and I love it and will defend it when I think someone is wrong or misrepresenting the state on here. But this, you’re right, there’s no defending this. I can’t see any way that manslaughter isn’t at least one of the charges against at least one of these officers. Ridiculous, complete lack of justice. Disgusts me as a Kentuckian, but moreso as a human.

No the State of Emergency was the right call 100%. You rarely get a chance to make a move like this days in advance and it is better to protect everyone including those outraged. If they waited until today to do it Louisville would make Kenosha look like an Occupy Wall Street Drum Circle.
