Seems like this case is now devolving into a FBI/Local Cops p-ing match

Re: Cops 6: The More You Pay, The Faster We'll Come!

Oregon officers can no longer ask random questions, state Supreme Court rules.

That’s amazing progress.

What's considered a random questions vs. a pertinent question? I could see this become a debilitating ruling when it comes to law enforcement.

ETA: And I mean actual law enforcement, not harassment of suspected immigrants.

Re: Cops 6: The More You Pay, The Faster We'll Come!

Well, that’s kind of the point. Just because legitimate law enforcement is hindered, doesn’t mean it’s a bad ruling. Miranda was another ruling that could have been seen as debilitating to law enforcement. Banning stop and frisk would also hinder LEOs, but it’s purpose is to harass minorities.

The point is to prevent law enforcement from harassing individuals or violating their rights. That takes precedence over everything else.

The Oregon Supreme Court will have to answer what’s random.

Exactly. If our rights get in the way of the cops, boo hoo.

Given the history of civil rights and liberties in this country the cops' freedom of action is something I find it really hard to be worried about.

But I was told all cops are saints.

Woof.

“ A Kansas police officer has been fired after making up story about McDonald's workers writing "f---ing pig" on his coffee cup.”

Good.

Unfortunately, the Cheif of the department has egg on his face for pushing his officers narrative before doing some research himself.

Other departments, civilians, and businesses all donated to the department before finding out the truth.

Also, I, unfortunately, fully expect the officer to be hired by another department by the end of the month.

Think about this video should you ever find yourself actually needing the aid of law enforcement. How many cops did it take to needlessly take this guy into custody? If you truly are supportive of the law enforcement officers in your communities, videos like this should outrage you, as even someone like me -- who could hardly be described as "supportive" of the cops -- knows there are times and places where the police may be necessary, and a swift response is ideal.

From star tribune:

“ A Cottage Grove police officer assigned to Park High School was charged Tuesday with sexually touching seven female students ranging in age from 13 to 17 and soliciting one teen multiple times for nude photos.”

In my day that was just a good party.
