Fox 9 has a pic of the 50 arrested in the I94 protest. Maybe only 5 are African American...a few were Hispanic and maybe 40 white. Welcome to MSP.

I did a quick google search to try and find it, but couldn't find it. Do you have a link?

It brought up a story about how police responded to the riots with some reaction from the police and a couple of man-on-the-street soundbites from protesters. I think the most despicable thing about how it escalated to a riot situation was that there were children around. The video showed police attempting to help a truck full of kids and their family members get out of the riot area. Others weren't allowing them to do that so they sprayed mace at the ones blocking the truck. Of course, some of it got in the eyes of the children in the truck. That led one mother to scream about how the police were macing her kids.

At what point does America just stop listening to "witnesses" and "by-standers" who make $hit up as they go?

I doubt it's the vast majority. The Joe Rockhead types where it was either the cops or the infantry, sure. But there are tons of cops who are as appalled by the murder of unarmed civilians as BLM. There are probably cops in BLM.

That is not the culture portrayed by the stuff I've seen. Like usual, if there are officers that are appalled then they are very silent about it. And silence does absolutely nothing.

It could be the media portrayal of cop culture is as skewed as the media portrayal of BLM, but I have no objective data if it even exists.

My mother-in-law works for our town's P.D. and those nice young men last about 6 months before becoming complete misanthropes. They aren't racist -- they assume everybody they meet is a scumbag. I've known loan sharks who are less cynical.

155 out of 607 is about 25%. African Americans make up 13% of the population. That is disproportionate even if more Whites are killed in terms of a raw count.

Both of the most recent killings involved armed men, neither of whom were reaching for their weapons or otherwise threatening police (presuming you believe your own eyes for the Louisiana shooting and the girlfriends account in Minnesota). Besides, you're Mr. 2nd Amendment around here; are you saying cops have a right to shoot anyone carrying a weapon simply because they're armed?

And most whites are killed by white people. What the fark does that have to do with whether a governmental entity is acting in a grossly inappropriate manner?

I don't know enough about the Louisiana situation to comment. On the one in Falcon Heights, I have already stated my stance, that the officer acted incorrectly, and it amounted to murder. So, I'm not sure what you're getting at there.

If most blacks are killed by blacks, and most whites are killed by whites, maybe both groups need to focus on figuring our own **** out before blaming others. Instead BLM is out there doing their thing protesting, when the biggest possible impact they could have for their constituents lives would be to clean up their own neighborhoods.

That's part of the problem. There isn't a big part of their job that involves helping a little kid get their kitten out of a tree or delivering a baby by the side of a highway. A sizable portion of the people they deal with every day are scumbags. A small portion actually carry serious threat to life and limb of the cop. Even those less scummy or violent confrontations, such as traffic stops, aren't exactly like someone coming in and buying a dozen roses from your flower shop. Those people are pizzed that they've been pulled over, and even more pizzed they're getting a ticket. You hear every form of lie or B.S. excuse the human mind can conceive. If you're not a cynic after six months work as a cop, you haven't been showing up for your job.
