Cops 2: Pay No Attention to the Rioters Behind the Curtain

Re: Cops 2: Pay No Attention to the Rioters Behind the Curtain

Many of the students and faculty members who took part in demonstrations had also been inspired by the protest movement sparked last year in Ferguson, a suburb of St. Louis, after a white police officer there killed Michael Brown, an unarmed black man, and they were experienced at using social media in organizing. They saw themselves as part of a continuum of activism linking Ferguson, other deaths at the hands of police, protests on campuses around the country and the Black Lives Matter movement.

And there are numerous Hollywood movies are "inspired" by true events. That doesn't mean they aren't still a load of fictional horse hockey in reality.

What's funny is that you're acting almost the exact same as the people you're mocking.

Re: Cops 2: Pay No Attention to the Rioters Behind the Curtain

That makes no sense. One involved a cop shooting an unarmed man, the other involves a corporate, tone-deaf suit. They aren't remotely comparable.

That's because you haven't been obsessively reading RedState, Townhall, and National Review Online to feed your hyper-defensive grievances. Here's a brief synopsis:

Blacks are the only real racists. Democrats use them as a cudgel to oppress honest, Constitutionalist conservatives by invoking thought crime legislation and criminalizing private opinion. Gangs of professional activists roam the land, sewing discord, riling up racial tensions and turning our women and children against us because they hate the American holy trinity of family, Christianity, and capitalism. It is vital to bear in mind that, as there is no longer any actual racism against them, any incidents involving blacks which involve those allegations are in reality their own fault, either because of their provocation or because they have been imbued with a victim mentality by liberals to keep them on the Democratic plantation.

Now you're up to speed with what these people have been fed by the conservative press morning, noon, and night for decades.

And if I read the NYT or the WaPo it's all the white man's fault.

Somewhere in between is the truth.

Re: Cops 2: Pay No Attention to the Rioters Behind the Curtain

FWIW, if you ever want to know why people respect the NYTimes and not the American Conservative or most of the rest of the rightwing blogosphere, reading those two articles would be a prime example. They attempt to convey the exact same information, one's just written 100x's more professionally than the other.
who respects the NY Times?

Re: Cops 2: Pay No Attention to the Rioters Behind the Curtain

Anyone with an IQ over 100?

Anyone who doesn't watch Fox News?

Anyone who actually can read?

I can go on if needed. They practically write themselves.
Anyone assigned to go to West Virginia and write a piece about about a rescued POW, but would prefer not to leave their office in NY.

My IQ is over 100. I don't watch Fox Snooze. I can actually read. NYT's still trash.

Re: Cops 2: Pay No Attention to the Rioters Behind the Curtain

who respects the NY Times?

Pretty much everybody outside the Echo Chamber. Although I stopped reading them when they put color pictures on the front page as the dumbing down last straw. Compare the information density from bygone years.

Re: Cops 2: Pay No Attention to the Rioters Behind the Curtain

Anybody in Minny know more about this?

Five Black Lives Matter protesters were shot Monday night in Minneapolis, and police are looking for three white male suspects. BLM organizers claim the shots were fired by a group of white supremacist counter-protesters.

Kos, which is far from objective, has the timeline as follows:

1. BLM "escorts" white supremacists from the crowd.
2. WS turn and fire on BLM.
3. Police tell BLM to pound sand.

I watched two different local morning news shows and learned nothing more than "five protesters were shot by three white men who were reported to be wearing bullet proof vests and the police are looking for them now." They had reporters on the scene who said nothing more than that, they had helicopter video which showed nothing beyond the protester encampment and more cops blocking nearby streets. The shooting happened before midnight and these were the 5 AM broadcasts with no real information.

The next location you all are going to want to keep an eye on is in Chicago.

http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2015/11...elf-in-for-fatal-shooting-of-laquan-mcdonald/

A white cop is to be charged with the murder of a black kid during a stop. The officer unloaded sixteen rounds into the kid. All of this was recorded on the officers dashboard camera in his car.
People who have seen the video have said it shows McDonald walking away from police when Van Dyke opened fire. The video reportedly shows Van Dyke firing the final two shots as McDonald was lying on the ground.

The rub in this: a Cook County judge has ordered that the dashboard camera tape be released to the public. To get ahead of the video release, Mayor Emmanuel, the police chief, and local civic leaders met to discuss the potential reaction to this video and what can be done to diffuse the situation ahead of time.

This has the potential to make Minneapolis' Black Lives Matter rioters look amateurish. Especially if the west or south sides really take hold of this heinous situation. It also could be forgotten about since the officer has turned himself in.

This one will be interesting. The BLM movement could end up suffering another credibility setback in the eyes of people like me (I really want to be on their side, but they continue to make it difficult) if their response to a murderer being charged with murder is the same response as they give when a murderer gets paid vacation.

edit: of course, regardless of how badly they may go about things IMO, I will always be on the side of demanding police accountability.
