Go for two!

Re: College Football III: We may lose, but we keep the score close!

Zook has brought some talent to Illinois but they will never be consistently good because he just doesn't have any feel whatsoever for game management and his coordinators don't seem to either. I'd list all the things just from this quarter as evidence, but what's the point? It's not like there's someone on the other side of the fence thinking, "You know, I think Zook has a great strategic mind!" He's pretty much universally considered a dope.

A good example of that is when he should have told his players on punt coverage to NOT down the ball, to take time off the clock, but they downed it almost instantly. Good for them that there was a turnover, but seconds do count in this game. The game Michigan lost against Colorado years ago- that happend a few times- I was pulling my hair out each time they downed the ball quickly. One never knows when 6 seconds will count that much.

Re: College Football III: We may lose, but we keep the score close!

Over/under at Michigan-Illinois today was 57.5

Take the over.

75 yard TD pass by Robinson on the first play from scrimmage

Michigan 7, Illinois 0 - 14:46 1st quarter.

Now that we are now at 104, starting the second overtime, double looks pretty possible.

Gotta figure Rich goes for two if they score a TD here, right?

Re: College Football III: We may lose, but we keep the score close!

Just as they drew it up.

February 23, 2010 basketball score

Illinois 51, Michigan 44

Tear the goal posts down- Michigan just won a Big 10 game!

Listen to those fans.... how sad is that.....

All they did was make sure they don't finish LAST in the Big 10.

wooo, hooo......

Re: College Football III: We may lose, but we keep the score close!

Well, that was a beautiful game...by which I mean, a complete defensive abortion.

The Illini should have had that game... We had our chances and flat out blew it... I know it's in the heat of the moment, but I think Zook's seat might be getting a little bit warmer after this one....

Re: College Football III: We may lose, but we keep the score close!

It's the lowest of all low-hanging fruit, I know, but Illinois led by seven and had the ball with 6:00 left just outside its own 40. Michigan has a horrible defense and IL had already scored 45 points. It was fourth and about 12-18 inches.

Zook called timeout. He then sent the offense on the field to try to half-heartedly draw Michigan offside. They didn't bite, so he took the delay of game penalty and then punted. From that point forward, Michigan scored four touchdowns (and a two-point conversion) in five possessions and Illinois lost. This is the defense in which Zook had so much faith that he punted in what should be a likely 4th-down conversion situation.

It's not that he punted so he's a bum. That's a tough call. It's that he had no feel whatsoever for the ability of his defense to stop UM. Punting in that situation means you are at least semi-confident in turning the game over to your defense. He wasn't just wrong; his read of the game was 180 degrees from what actually transpired from that point forward.

He has no feel for the game. No game- or time-management skills. How can you be around the sport your entire life and have no ****ing clue what you're watching happen directly in front of you?:(

RichRod's going to end up 7-5, go to a bowl, and probably save his job.

TCU had a not particularly bad first quarter.

It doesn't look like I get the Oregon game this week.

Any particular reason why they aren't up by forty yet? 3-0?!?
