He's in Denver, btw.

Can Nevada be on upset alert? If so, they are. Down 17-0 to Hawaii in the 2nd quarter.

Re: College Football II: The BCS hits the Fan

What an interesting 2 weeks this has been.

Alabama, USC, Florida, Nebraska all pretenders.

Well, I watched the Nebraska game and, though I agree with Pelini's decision to file a grievance, the officials' bias only embittered the loss further rather than caused it.

Niles Paul shouldn't see the ball again this year.

Nebraska receivers dropped 8 passes today. 6 of them would have been for 6 points... ok 5 of them as 2 of the drops happened on the same possession. Niles Paul was king of the disaster dropping 4 by himself.

I wonder where all the teams will fall now that most of them have lost?

Oregon will be #1, surely.
BSU will be #2?
TCU #3?

Auburn probably #4
who else will round out the top 10?

Re: College Football II: The BCS hits the Fan

Oklahoma predicted to be BCS #1, followed by Oregon.

Sorry, BSU. Keep hoping.

If VaTech can keep their collective head extricated from their arse, like they have been lately, you'll have that going for you. But it will only matter on the margin. As many as you've already seen, you need to keep rooting for top-ten losses.

eta: I actually do feel badly for BSU. There's nothing they can do, short of receive a miraculous offer to join a bigger conference. Folks say they need to destroy everyone on their schedule. That's probably true, but that just underscores the difference. Every week you see some top team fighting for their life - Oregon fighting Stanford tooth and nail, Ohio State falling to Wisconsin, etc. etc. And you see BSU eviscerating NorthCentral Flyover State . . .

There's just no solution short of a playoff. There really isn't.

Don't see how that is possible given Oklahoma's place in the polls. I can see them #1 in the computer rankings, but they would have to jump over probably BSU and TCU in the polls to be at the top overall.

I think the move to the MWC will help them. The MWC is about the level of the Big East, while the WAC is at MAC/Sun Belt level.

Re: College Football II: The BCS hits the Fan

I am stoked to hear he is gone today. But that is tempered until I see who we hire to replace him for next season.

Re: College Football II: The BCS hits the Fan

I could make a joke and say Greg Robinson, but I wouldn't wish him upon my worst enemy.

I'm sure Hawaii and Nevada are getting their checks in the mail. :D

Re: College Football II: The BCS hits the Fan

Heard someone float Mark Mangino's name out there yesterday. That would be hilarious.

Re: College Football II: The BCS hits the Fan

Trestman, Calhoun, Sumlin are the names I'm hearing that intrigue me the most.
