Re: College Football II: The BCS hits the Fan

You have to be a special type of stupid to try to punch someone in the face when they're wearing a football helmet...

Thank God Heather Cox informed us that officials can toss a player from the game if he throws a punch. That may be the most worthless thing ever "reported" by a sideline reporter. This is exactly why sideline reporters should not exist.

Re: College Football II: The BCS hits the Fan

So last year when Stanford traveled east to play Wake Forest, the game was at noon local time, meaning it was 9 am on the west coast. This year, at Stanford, the game is at 8:15 pm local time, meaning it'll be 11:15 pm on the east coast. Gotta love the teams messing with each other's sleep.

It's all about doing what's best for the kids.

Michigan definitely got caught sleepwalking today, but the late first half surge gave them the momentum to avoid an Appy State redux.

Re: College Football II: The BCS hits the Fan

Mass TD makes it a five-point game. I assume an onside kick will follow.

Kicked out of bounds, Michigan gets the ball at the 40 and should hang on.

That should probably bring most of the wack-job Michigan fans I know back down to reality some.

Re: College Football II: The BCS hits the Fan

This CBS announcing team is the biggest bunch of Florida apologists. 30 arrests in less than six years for a football program isn't a lot? It wouldn't "be fair" to say they were a "dirty program."

Where is that bar set these days? 10 arrests/year?

(And no, Tennessee doesn't count as a "dirty program" because the players don't know how to shower)

Miami does not seem to be a dirty team anymore. Err no pun intended?

They certainly aren't the worst in the state of Florida anymore.

I think Miami's been the cleanest of the big three over the last 4 years. Florida's running away with the State Fulmer Cup, though.

Re: College Football II: The BCS hits the Fan

Wisconsin's coach is an idiot. KO return for a TD, Punt return for a TD called back, 4 seconds left, they kick it deep and they're lucky they caught the KO returner at the 1.

I believe her poorly-articulated point was that you just have to attempt a punch and you don't necessarily have to connect with it to get thrown out of a game.

Minnesota threatening to look like a competent football team late in the 3rd quarter.

MN 14-13 USC

ETA: There we go, USC runs back the ensuing kickoff. I knew it was a mirage.

Geez, if you've even casually watched UF the last 5-6 years, the fake punt in that situation was the least surprising thing you'll see all day. And UT was totally unprepared for it.

I eagerly await the game that Kiffin loses because he treats extra points like he's playing Madden.
