Ken Niumatalolo is out as Navy's head coach. Don't know if he was fired, all I've read is he won't return.

I don't see why they would fire him. He's been their most successful coach since back when they had Roger Staubach.

The article I read seemed to imply he told them he was not returning.

That’s absurd.

Like the article says, who in the world are they going to get who’s better?

This is not Alabama or USC, where you fire someone after one bad season. Service academies needs are different, and it’s very difficult to find someone who can fit into that environment, be successful in it, and be willing to stick around.

Navy could look really stupid over this move.

At some point the momentum just stops for some coaches. His worst four seasons have come in the last five years. I think Ken was the perfect coach for Navy, but Shaw was the perfect coach for Stanford too until
he wasn’t.

With the traditional top dogs (as much tradition as you can get in a decade) of the AAC leaving, it opens the door for someone to take the top spot. Tulane seems to be building something, but Navy might be viewing this as a good time for a reset to try to make their way into that group as well. Especially with the playoff expanding to 12, it’s a legitimate shot for a G5 to make it to the playoff without having to win 25 games in a row first.

North Dakota State is off to another FCS title game. Beat Incarnate Word 36-33 after falling down 16-0 early.

Since 2010 they’ve made the championship in 10/13 years and they’ve never lost the title game.

But they're worried about this one, at least a bit. SDSU came into the FargoDome earlier this year and beat them, and have won the last three games against them. It's sort of fun to watch the black sheep of our family (those that attended NDSU) squirm a bit, even if I think ultimately NDSU will prevail.

I haven't seen the odds yet, but I'm hoping to get NDSU as an underdog. I just don't see them losing in Frisco.

This is the most 'Murican sentence I have read in a long time:

The Air Force has grounded its entire fleet of B-2 stealth bombers following an emergency landing and fire earlier this month, and none of the strategic aircraft will perform flyovers at this years' college bowl games.

Helluva Sun Bowl game. UCLA goes 70 yards in 8 plays for the TD and a 1 point lead and leaves 34 seconds on the clock. Pitt goes 46 yards in 30 seconds and kicks a 47 yd field goal for the win.

"One of the great traditions of college football" is a bunch of inbred drunks waving their dirty underwear around to a song played at every sporting event the last thirty years?

That is the best penalty I have ever seen.

South Carolina had two guys with the same number (0) on the field at once.

Hard to believe that the ACC is done bowling tonight. And will have a winning record regardless of what Clemson does.

Thanks to ND, the SEC is only 1-4 up until tonight's late game. They have 5 more games to go, so have plenty of chances to get 6 wins to have a winning record.

B1G is so far 3-0, but 6 games to go is a lot.

And man is it weird to have the Orange Bowl on Dec 30. How many decades was it the last game on Jan1? All that over thanks to the need from the public for a game to decide the championship.
