They had their chances but couldn't capitalize, starting QB went down but injuries ain't an excuse, and BC lost to NCSt by a field goal.

Appalachian State won a nail-biter against Taccoa State 35-34.

Sorry, that's a typo. I meant 135-34.

Somewhere Jimmy Johnson is seeing the Turnover Chain and going “why didn’t I think of that?” That thing is the most “The U” thing ever.

The Catholics are gonna need a few Hail Marys to recover from that first half. Convicts fully in the driver's seat.

Re: College Football 2017-18: Now with more CTE!

Miss State throws a hail mary from midfield, but gets DPI. 15 yards closer, the QB throws the same hail mary 10 yards past the back of the end zone. Math is illegal in Mississippi.

The top 4 should be interesting this week. Alabama has to be #1, but after that it could go a variety of different ways. Does Clemson move up into the second spot after knocking off the Criminoles? Does Oklahoma get rewarded for crushing TCU? How high does the U move after beating the snot out of the Irish? Does Wisconsin leap in front of Georgia? Will Auburn get ranked ahead of the Dogs?

Provided Clemson and Miami win out, the ACC Championship game will be a virtual Playoff Quarterfinal. The same can be said for the SEC Championship between Georgia and Alabama/Auburn. Oklahoma should be in if they win out. The B1G champion probably takes down the fourth spot, particularly if it is an undefeated Wisconsin. What would be interesting to see is if Alabama suffers its only loss in the SEC title game, while Ohio State wins out and is the 2-loss B1G champ. Obviously, lots of possibilities could still happen, but it looks like we are down to about 8 teams left competing for the Playoff (Clemson, Miami, Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, and Ohio State).

I dont think Wisconsin is top 4 this week. They are even weaker than Miami in schedule. But they will get their chance later with Michigan and Ohio State games.

Alabama
Clemson
Miami
Oklahoma

It would be easy to start complaining about the playoffs, and how stupid they are- like we know either Miami or Clemson will not likely be in- they have to play each other, but if Bama looses to Auburn, they will still be in, etc. But the reality is- now that the championship game starts late, other than seeing the first 1/4, I'm not going to watch. Especially if they are teams that I don't like.

The end result of this playoff set up means that the only way I even watch half the game is if my team is in. Not like the traditional bowl games where you have the next day off or kinda on (1/2).

I think I mentioned that once before. As a fan of college football, I wonder how many others would rather get sleep over seeing a game between to "who-evers."
