Army beats Navy for the first time in 15 years. Cadets rush the field, leaving the players to sing the alma mater to empty seats.

Heck of a dramatic game, too. For Army to struggle so badly on offense in the second half and then to put a game winning drive together... wow.

AND the Army D getting lit up and then holding Navy when it really counted.

Great drama there.

And it ends with Verne Lunquist thanking everyone for his long football announcing career, which has come to an eloquent end.

I'm surprised Jackson won it. Since his team wasn't in the playoff, I thought the rule was it had to go to someone whose team was, but with inferior numbers.

He was so far ahead by the Houston loss that they didn't have time to give it to an Alabama player.

Very deserving winner. Congrats to Jackson. Was very fun to watch him this year.

Kiffin's off to FAU, and Strong is now at USF. Not going to be easy if you're outside Florida looking to recruit the guys passed over by FSU, UF, and Miami.

I dunno, pointing at a piece of paper summarizing each of their last head coaching outings doesn't seem THAT hard.

Kiffin's off to FAU,

It's interesting to see the flack that he's being given for taking that job. I will admit that I'm no Kiffen fan what so ever, but I very much respect this choice of being a HC, as to me- he's acknowledging all of the fear and criticism that he's gotten for not being mature.

It's as if Saban convinced him to reset his plan to be a HC and start over again- at a much lower level than before. And it's not as if great coaches have not come from the lower levels to start with.

This isn't a bad move if he really thinks he can be a big school HC. And if he fails, well, being HC isn't in the cards (plus, it's not as if the alumni base at FAU can light him up like at Tennessee or USC).

I love the Wakeyleaks scandal because, really, what secrets do you need to beat Wake Forest? "Show up on time" and "have the correct number of players" aren't exactly secrets, and I'm not even sure the latter is completely necessary.

To be fair, Louisville tried that and was losing after 3 quarters. Then they overdid reading the notes and scored 5 tds in the last 10 minutes.

Minnesota's players appear to be boycotting the bowl game after 10 got suspended by the school's EEOA from a sexual assault in September. No charges from that were filed.

Re: College Football 2016-17: Destination Tampa

It's a $2.85 million payout for the Holiday, so we'll see who blinks 1st. NIU's next in line if Minnesota drops out.

The Big Ten pools their bowl money. Minnesota usually likes to do their bowl game on the cheap so they maximize what the Big Ten gives them in travel funds, but they're basically losing out on five or low six figures, not $2.85 million.

Are they still under investigation?
