Re: College Football 2016-17: Destination Tampa

What else can i tell you. My dad is a member, i have been to events etc. It's cute having a trophy but clemson is a complete non factor to BC. Fans care about playing notre dame and that's about it.

Alright, with those last two posts that's it for me. Can't bang my head against a wall forever. Feel free to argue with the voices in your head.

Ahh, I see. Well, I've never been to the events, so all I have to go on are the articles coming from BC papers and other media talking about the rivalry, blog posts and tweets professing the rivalry, and other evidence (like a trophy to recognize the rivalry) suggesting that BC treats it as a rivalry.

But, hey, you're the expert. :p:D:D

Classy. But we can at least agree that you would rank USC higher than Washington, correct?

Is this like that nonsense rivalry and trophy UCONN made up to try and increase interest for their games against Central Florida?

J.D.'s "rationale" is that Washington will stay at 4 because they got dominated at home by USC, while Clemson will fall to 5 because they had a freak loss to Pitt. It doesn't make any sense, but he/she is clinging on to it with all his/her might. I would laud the effort if it wasn't so ridiculous.
Even I think Washington probably goes 5-6. I think Klatt had it right on the broadcast, teams get into the Top 4 and then play nervous.

If you two don't stop hate humping each other, I'm going to get the hose.

Coaches
1. Bama (63)
2. OSU
3. Louisville
4. Michigan
5. Clemson
6. Wisconsin

AP
1. Bama (61)
2. OSU
3. Louisville
4. Michigan
5. Clemson
6. Wisconsin

Pairwise
1. Bama
2. OSU
3. Michigan
4. Clemson
5. PSU
6. Louisville

That was a weak call

As was the roughing the center that never gets called and gave Michigan 3 points rather than a punt.

Regardless, what a huge win for Iowa. It's a lot of fun beating Harbaugh. After a season of disappointment, at least Hawkeye Nation will have that one to remember forever.

Speight broke his collarbone. Pencil in Penn State to Indy and Ohio State as the #4 seed in the CFP

Not looking to argue, just interesting seeing this piece. Obviously it's not *his* rankings but rather simply ranking the losses.

I'd prefer a team that beat a bunch of good teams and lost to a bad team than a team that beats a bunch of bad teams and loses to a good team. Best loss is a terrible way to look at it. Best wins is far better.

Re: College Football 2016-17: Destination Tampa

And that's certainly fine. That's probably how the committee will do it in the end. Although a team like Washington does have two very good wins if you go by where they were ranked at the time (that can be debated) with the opportunity for two more in Washington State and Pac 12 title game. A lot of football left. Might all be playing for 2nd place anyway ;)

Agreed. Idiotic to care more about who a team loses to than who the team beats.

College Football Playoff Rankings:
1. Alabama
2. Ohio State
3. Michigan
4. Clemson
-------------------------------
5. Louisville
6. Washington
7. Wisconsin
8. Penn State

Fortunately, it looks as though those with an actual say in the matter feel the same way. I would swap Michigan and Clemson because the Tigers have a better Strength of Schedule (23 vs. 55), Strength of Record (2 vs. 7), and Game Control (3 vs. 4); however, it is pretty close.

After having Michigan pushed down my throat since childhood, I want them to lose badly against Ohio State.
