Major props to Fresno for declining it, too. Very great gesture by both sides.

Yeah that was super cool to see. As much as I may not like Nebraska, they do an excellent job with class things like this and while many of their fans may be delusional thinking it's still the 90's, they're great fans. My favorite road trip in the B1G is Nebraska.

Washington out of the Pac 12? Bold strategy Cotton... :D

I like Chris Peterson.. Tough schedule but who knows. The rest of those predictions don't look so great right now, but it's only week 1.

SEC loses 6 games on first weekend for first time since 1972. If Florida State beats Ole Miss tomorrow, that goes to 7. Beautifully sticking it to all of the media who stroke it to the SEC. Wisconsin with an excellent answer to "five or six SEC West teams would win the B1G West."

Also, my yearly reminder if you don't listen to the Solid Verbal Podcast, you're missing out.

Texas looks like they have a QB.

Edit: If you're not watching ND - TX, you're missing a humdinger,

There were 15 games played this weekend between schools that play college hockey and those who don't. Hockey schools went 9-6. The message is clear: Play hockey. :)

Ahh, the welcome predictability of the fall... leaves painting wonderful pictures in all their colors, the feeling already in the air after the sun goes down of the coming autumn chill, kids lining up for the first days of school. Oh yeah, and a Notre Dame coach finding a way to pull defeat out of the jaws of victory. In another generation grandfathers everywhere will be telling their grandchildren about that wonderful thing that was Notre Dame football. Much like grandfathers today tell their grandchildren about the unstoppable powerhouse football teams of Harvard, Navy and Army of 60 and 70 years ago. While I no longer believe a national championship is around the corner for Notre Dame Hockey, I still feel it is a whole lot closer than one for Notre Dame football.

Stanford's games 2 through 6 - USC, @UCLA, @UW, WSU, @ND - was supposed to be the gauntlet part of their season. And then in week 1 those opponents goes 1-4. So who knows? That why we play the games. Granted Stanford didn't exactly annihilate KSU or anything, but an OK win is much better when looking at other team's losses.

Well let's see, USC got happily blown out by a pretty good Alabama, UCLA lost in OT, Washington beat Rutgers handily (Go Dawgs!), Wazzu Couged it, and Notre Dame is overrated as always. Don't get too ahead of yourself.

I attended the Richmond vs. UVA game here in Charlottesville. UVA is not a good team. Richmond won 37-20 but the game wasn't even that close.

I miss having a defense. Pencil Clemson into the semis again.

Re: College Football 2016-17: Destination Tampa

And here comes Florida St back. Kind of figured this would happen. Dam.

Re: College Football 2016-17: Destination Tampa

Seminoles, I can't do 2014 all over again. My heart and liver will riot.
