Re: College Football 2015-16: The Big Ten Rises

Nice to see people respond to the negativity and give him tons of good vibes.

Other than the one play, he had a great game- pinning MSU deep a few times.

There would have been death threats 30 years ago too, they were just much harder to communicate.

Remember the 30 for 30 movie about the Fab 5- the death threats they got were via written letters. Baggy pant's were a pretty nasty thing, to some.

For the life of me, I will never understand how so many people could vote Baylor #1 with a schedule like that and so many teams doing far more impressive things in the field.

But POINTS!!!!!!!!!!11!!!1!

Well in this day and age that always happens with stuff like this. Unfortunate but no way to stop it. A reason to hate social media.
And Michigan fans, if we didn't already hate them.;)

Re: College Football 2015-16: The Big Ten Rises

USA Today's top 10 stadium list- for best atmosphere. http://fanindex.usatoday.com/2015/1...with-the-best-atmosphere-in-college-football/

Three B1G- OSU, Michigan, Penn State

3 SEC- LSU, Georgia, and A&M

One ACC- Clemson's death Valley

One P10- UCLA

Army- one the river.

And....

Idaho.

Smallest FBS stadium in the country, by a pretty wide margin, I think. And it's a dome.

While I'm pleased to have both of my schools on the list, I'm also a little mystified by Idaho. (and yes, I do get that Michigan get's on the list due to the size alone)

Re: College Football 2015-16: The Big Ten Rises

Huh. No Bryant Denny? No memorial stadium? Camp Randall?

This is dumb.

Edit: of course it was a fan vote. That's the only reason this would make sense.

Camp Randall is fading (for me, at least). The students usually file in in the (late) 2nd quarter and then leave in droves at the start of the 4th Qtr, after Jump Around. Their stupid "YOU SUCK!" "EAT SH**!!" chants, it's getting really old. The band, though, is pretty cool.

Interesting. Would have never guessed.

The Rose Bowl is a great stadium if you can ignore how much of a pain it is to physically get to.

Re: College Football 2015-16: The Big Ten Rises

Other than that, how was the play, Mrs. Lincoln?

Too soon?

I guess I don't understand your joke. He did have a great kicking game, and most of the rest of the players could also have done something to have put the game away.

Certainly should not be threatened or should lose his kicking job over one play.

When I went out a couple years ago my friend and I walked from downtown Pasadena to the stadium. I'd say it was a good half hour of just walking downhill, until we hit what seemed like a subdivision that suddenly opened up to a big-a** field with a big-a** stadium.

Also, great stadium if you aren't in the lettered rows. Thank goodness I'm tall.

Re: College Football 2015-16: The Big Ten Rises

The 2 times I've been to the Big House I was impressed by the turnout and setup, but felt like 100,000 people should be much louder.

If I have to explain it...

Saying he had a great game besides the series of massive farkups that led to the team losing is like saying the Lincolns had a wonderful evening on the town until Booth ruined it.

Does that make it clear?

But your version of the joke implies that he "killed" the team. One play didn't kill the team- the team lead to a position where one played lost it for them.

Your joke basically blames the kicker for the loss- which is what I was posting against. Since that blame is what lead people to threaten him.

My question was just that- are you really blaming the kicker for the loss? Based on your explanation, yes you are.

So, no, it's not funny.
