There may be blame to spread around but it's no different than a goalie letting in a soft goal that loses a game, a QB throwing an ill-advised pick six. There may be others to blame too, but their failure is the proximate cause for the loss. To claim otherwise is silly.

If the kicker had handled the snap and gotten the punt off, would Mich have lost?But your version of the joke implies that he "killed" the team. One play didn't kill the team- the team lead to a position where one played lost it for them.
Your joke basically blames the kicker for the loss- which is what I was posting against. Since that blame is what lead people to threaten him.
My question was just that- are you really blaming the kicker for the loss? Based on your explanation, yes you are.
