College Football 2015-16: The Big Ten Rises

Re: College Football 2015-16: The Big Ten Rises

But your version of the joke implies that he "killed" the team. One play didn't kill the team- the team lead to a position where one played lost it for them.

Your joke basically blames the kicker for the loss- which is what I was posting against. Since that blame is what lead people to threaten him.

My question was just that- are you really blaming the kicker for the loss? Based on your explanation, yes you are.

So, no, it's not funny.
If the kicker had handled the snap and gotten the punt off, would Mich have lost?

There may be blame to spread around but it's no different than a goalie letting in a soft goal that loses a game, a QB throwing an ill-advised pick six. There may be others to blame too, but their failure is the proximate cause for the loss. To claim otherwise is silly.

"Other than the botched punt, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you enjoy the game?"

The punter dropped the snap, then picked it up rather than falling on it, then tried to kick it while facing backwards rather than eating the loss of yards.

And the joke is aimed at you, not him. Saying he had a great game while ignoring the most important play of the game is silly.

The Cubs offense had a great game last night if you ignore all the outs they made.

Since humor is lost on some, maybe this can bring everyone a chuckle:

Brady Hoke says he wouldn't have punted.

Re: College Football 2015-16: The Big Ten Rises

Yeah, but Pete Carroll thinks Brady Hoke is an idiot. He would have passed instead.

On 4th down, pass or run wouldn't matter. If they failed to gain the yardage, the clock stops. A pass might be the better option because if your line can get their blocks, it could use more time than a failed run, regardless if it falls incomplete or the receiver is short of the first down marker.

The 2 times I've been to the Big House I was impressed by the turnout and setup, but felt like 100,000 people should be much louder.

The design of that stadium is counter-productive when it comes to making noise. Yeah, there are 100,000 people there, but there is nothing to hold the sound in, nothing for it to bounce off of. The shallow single bowl really hurts the noise factor.

Baylor's going to drop in the polls. Only scored 45 and only won by 18.

EDIT: I guess Maryland bought the old Patriots jerseys.

Grandpa always said it was the quietest place he played.

I suspect Utah is going to drop more.

Coaches: (link)
1. OSU (49)
2. Baylor (10)
3. TCU (2)
4. LSU (1)
5. MSU

AP: (link)
1. OSU (39)
2. Baylor (7)
3. Clemson (6)
4. LSU (5)
5. TCU (3)

Pairwise: (link)

1. Notre Dame
2. MSU
3. LSU
4. Clemson
5. OSU

Surprised with the LSU/MSU flip flop in the coaches, given LSU played WKU, who Indiana beat. But since some grad assistant put that together at 3am I can't be too upset.

Baylor may look impressive in their wins, but they're going to put up points regardless of the opponent. Playing what could be one of the weakest schedules possible up to this point should be a detractor from all these first place votes.

In the Pairwise, ND got some help with many of their opponents winning. With Temple coming up next week, their SOS should still be strong win or lose. In fact, their last five games involve three teams with 0 or 1 losses (Temple, Pitt, Stanford).

Did you go post-renovation? The two towers (press box on one side, private boxes on the other) did help retain some noise. But overall, from an acoustic standpoint, it is not built to retain noise. Ohio State, 1997 was the loudest I have ever heard it and it was all game.

Re: College Football 2015-16: The Big Ten Rises

Going to the Michigan-Minnesota game on Saturday night. Should be a fun time with tailgating and my first ever night football game. Can't wait.
