I forgot the Gophers still had Liedner at QB. Meaning they can't throw the ball.

Our friends at Kennesaw State are now the winningest program in college football history with a win percentage of 1.000.

Well, that was frustrating. I felt the Gophers made some questionable coaching decisions, and the officials were pretty terrible. But despite that, they were within 6 and had the ball with a chance to win.

The early fumble by, I think, Williams, was killer, IMO. A TD on that drive would have been huge, instead they fumble in the endzone.

I wonder how good the Gophers could be if we could ever find a QB who could throw a decent pass?

From the scoreboard, Minnesota is in a much better position than Michigan is right now.

Watched two games last night- one you may give a darn about- Michigan's D did ok- held Utah reasonably well- giving up 2 full TD drives, and 3 FG drives that Utah only got 1 for. Basically 23 points. Some big plays, which were bad, some poor tackling, too- but also some good pressure and whatnot. Competitive, but not extraordinary.

The offense- not good. I expected more out of a veteran QB- could be that the offense was just so new to him- but he forced most of the passes. And the long passes- 2 of the 3 were VERY open, and the 3rd was open enough that it should have been a pretty easy TD. Not even close. Not saying that he's bad- but not prepared enough. Harbaugh has a lot to do this week to fix a lot of things. Running game took a while to get going- and even there a lot of work for the runners- what are you seeing, what are you looking at- at least two plays the runner could have bounced out to a less obstructed path- maybe a few ore a lot more yards, maybe not- but for sure- less people. Maybe we thought Hoke's players were more talented than that. Jim has a lot to do work to do on the team- 1% a day may not get a bowl game this year.

And the game you don't care about- my Vandals. Holy cow the D is terrible. After 3 years of no middle/long coverage, one would think that SOME coaching would result in some halfway decent coverage- like a guy within a yard or two of a receiver. Nope. Guys were so wide open in the middle it was not even funny. Thankfully, the offense is better- less pressure on the QB, better running decent passing (MOS is much lower in Moscow than Ann Arbor). But a big beat down from the Bobcats of Ohio. Based on last year's game, Idaho should have been a whole lot closer, to the point that winning should have been a strong possibility. Not even close.

Ohio State has 3 quarterbacks, Michigan State has one, and the rest of the conference has junk.

Not a bad win for Utah, a team that was picked next to last in the Pac 12 South. Nice to see the Gophers being competitive against a top team. And Arizona better hope that Scooby Wright is back and healthy by conference play or their season will head south in a hurry.

They've bid for the Frozen Four several times, otherwise I wouldn't have either.

Minnesota is underrated. Would not be surprised to see them be the sacrificial lamb for Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship.

They're a fairly new program but my understanding is they've put together a halfway decent team pretty quickly and aren't the total tomato can that some nonconference games are. They gave the Wildcats all they could handle one other recent season.
