Re: College Football 2010: Dude, Where's my Conference?

To be fair, Tennessee is doing a home and home with tOSU... They have been the one SEC team that has gone out and scheduled big name opponents...

Re: College Football 2010: Dude, Where's my Conference?

Stupid.

This is not a game that should be indoors.

Chicago, Green Bay, Cleveland, Pittsburgh... all better choices for a neutral site.

Green Bay would never work. Stadium is fine, but there aren't nearly enough hotel rooms or transportation options to host a game like that (where 100% of the fans will be coming in from out of town).

I also wish the game would be held in Chicago, but I understand taking Indy and the 'safe' choice for the first one.

Re: College Football 2010: Dude, Where's my Conference?

Alabama prefers the single neutral site game when playing "name" schools outside of the SEC. They had the one matchup with Florida State in Jacksonville back in '07.

And Boise State can win every game 52-0, including over the Hokies, and they're still not playing for the national title. It'd be touch and go as it is, and there are enough tools that inexplicably are allowed to vote with "Cowherd syndrome" where they'll vote a 2 loss Florida team ahead of Boise because Florida is sexier.

more to the point, VTech will manage to go 7-5 or 8-4 if they lose.

Re: College Football 2010: Dude, Where's my Conference?

So reggie bush called USC's new AD and apologized. Hmmm.... TBA?

Re: College Football 2010: Dude, Where's my Conference?

$10 says that any black guy between the ages of 12 and 80 could call the USC AD and convince him that he's Reggie Bush.

Re: College Football 2010: Dude, Where's my Conference?

Either that or Michigan didn't want to get an ässwhoopin' at Michigan Stadium.

Not like they can hide that game from the Blue Mafia. A matchup like that is going to be all over National TV. They might as well have it at the Big House and get the tickets and consession sells from it as well.

Re: College Football 2010: Dude, Where's my Conference?

If this game happens, they're going to more than cover what they would have made had it been in Ann Arbor.

Re: College Football 2010: Dude, Where's my Conference?

Well true that. But I still think it's rediculous the lengths the SEC will go to avoid leaving the Confederacy.

The way RichRod is going this might simply be a deal akin to Western or Central going down to Florida for the big payday. :o

In a world full of uncertainty, this is one you can take to the bank.

Maryland sucking is a pretty safe bet, too. (I'm bitter because my daughter is about to force me to be informed about them for the next 4 years.)

Talk about an opportunity, decent budget, good location, good but not oppressive schedule etc. Maryland might be the most underperforming football team in the country...couple of ideas...fire the Fridge and get a better coach, cut back on the insane clown posse uniforms and set some expectations on the AD that football at that school and in that conference shouldn't be a weakness.

If Temple can elevate from HS to passable D1, Maryland should be able to do something.

somebody is going to get in there and become a hero if he can coach....everyone will be asking where MD football has been for the last xx years
