Re: College Football 2009: Where Championships are won by a majority vote

As one of the few SEC fans who know what hockey is, I'll go on record right now to say that I'm getting no pleasure from this. At all. :(

Why doesn't TX have at least a redshirt freshman (if not sophomore) backup?

IIRC most of the top recruits in TX knew right after McCoy got meaningful time as a starter there was no point of heading there, they would sit for 2+ years and it was a waste of their time.

I think at least one blue chipper transferred out. It's a double edged sword: you have a guy ready to play D-1 ball as a freshman? That's a gift. But no one wants to sit behind that guy for 3 years.

Hopefully Gilbert can make a few more of those passes. I'm not gonna get crazy and talk about miracles, but it would be nice to see UT resemble something like a BCS finalist in the 2nd half...

Has Bama been called for a single penalty that has effected the game?

Bah. This kid just isn't ready. I'm off for some Modern Warfare multiplayer. My profile for tonight - the BCS. You killed the BCS :p

True, nowadays, you're more likely to get drafted if you went to a smaller school that doesn't get the media exposure that Texas gets but you can get playing time there, thats what the scouts want to see, you getting game time.

You day that like killing the BCS would be a bad thing??? ;) ;) :D :D

Now the receivers are dropping the ball left and right. Awesome.

Re: College Football 2009: Where Championships are won by a majority vote

What's that? Texas scores a TD? Maybe too little too late, but we might have a game here.

24-13 Bama. 1:31 left in the third quarter.

Its only a two possession game right now. And Bama really hasn't played that great. The Fat Lady might have been thinking of warming up, but its not time for her to sing just yet.

Re: College Football 2009: Where Championships are won by a majority vote

Saban got the 'Bama boosters to buy off the refs tonight.

Re: College Football 2009: Where Championships are won by a majority vote

Shoving a Texas WR= not PI. Shoving a Bama WR when the ball is 15 yards away= PI.

This crew is horrendous.

Re: College Football 2009: Where Championships are won by a majority vote

Went back to the game out of morbid curiosity.

Glad it didn't end up costing Texas. If anything, they get better field position than they would have had if Alabama ended up punting.

But still . . . not a good series for the Big East zebras.

Re: College Football 2009: Where Championships are won by a majority vote

The Big East crew is obviously not up for this game. But their bank accounts seem to be.

Re: College Football 2009: Where Championships are won by a majority vote

Not only was that a catch, Texas ran that play before the whistle I believe.

Re: College Football 2009: Where Championships are won by a majority vote

Should Alabama hang on, will McElroy set a record for QB futility by a game winner?

The OU QB actually had a decent game in the OU-FSU game, and I think that 13-2 game is probably the only candidate in recent memory...
