Seems like half the season, we've been playing against anywhere from 18 to 20 players. No different tonight.
Let's face it, with what's on the line for Pitt, you knew we were going to get ****ed up the *** at some point with a Big East crew officiating. I don't think there's a conference crew out there that ISN'T corrupt.
Nah, we'd still be mediocre. In fact, I don't even think we'd have won the game today, but it would have been nice to lose it legitimately, rather than on a bull**** call by a crew that was bought and paid for.Yep, you nailed it. Notre Dame wouldn't be a mediocre team if all those cheaters weren't out to get them.
Yep. I'd go with Tate right now, actually.By the way, are Clausen and Tate still the top two Heisman candidates in your mind
(BTW, Clausen did win the games against MSU, Purdue, and Washington.)
He said Tebow wins big games, not just games.Kinda hard to win when you're playing against 18. Just saying...

I'd love to see Wisconsin vs. Notre Dame. Wisc's beaten the tar out of teams ND's struggled to beat, and no one exactly considers the badgers world beaters, or worthy of heisman accolades.
Is the rest of your offense/team that bad that they're playing average/mediocre all season despite having their QB and wide receiver being heisman worthy?

And don't even make me get into the global officiating conspiracy against Wisconsin...

Like I said the Gophers beat 2 of the 3 teams Notre Dame beat in Craig's example...the same Gophers who barely beat SDSU. If that is all it takes to win the Heisman then Adam Weber for Heisman! (he also beat Greg Paulus aka the Outstate NY BretFavre!)
So basically Notre Dame is worthy of the Motor City Bowl is what I am saying...congrats!
That Paulus comparison only worked in the first two games - SU fans now hate Paulus with an undying fire.

I have a question that I kept forgetting to ask.
Last week I went to the Michigan Tech-Northwood game(I know ). Michigan Tech has the ball on Northwood's 10 yard line. They run to the 3 yard line and get a first down. After the play Michigan Tech gets called for a dead ball late hit and is moved back to the 18. On third down Tech gets down to the 2 yard line. They are given a first down.
Shouldn't it have been forth down? Tech got a first down and then a penalty occurred. So shouldn't it have been First and Goal from the 18? Please tell me why I'm wrong.
ref got it right
order of operations:
result of play was a first down.
then they assessed the 15 yard personal foul bringing the ball back to the 18
it then becomes first and 10 from the 18 because the penalty happened on the third down play that resulted in the first down as opposed on the new set of downs
But it was a dead ball foul. So shouldn't it have been First and Goal before the foul occurred? I'm sure I'm wrong, but it just seems like since it was a foul after the play was over it should have been First and Goal. Oh well.
