Oklahoma State and Pittsburgh are hasta la bye bye.

Good weekend for Boise State!

If only Texas would have lost to A&M.

Re: College Football 2009: Bowl College Stupidity Rankings

The awesomest TD pass by a Heisman hopeful tonight didn't come from a QB.

Re: College Football 2009: Bowl College Stupidity Rankings

Who would have thought the final minute of a blowout could be as entertaining as the end of the USC-UCLA game?

I woldn't be so sure Tebow gets the Heisman over McCoy this year.

btw - just because the media over does it with him it seems no reason to want to see him fail.

Re: College Football 2009: Bowl College Stupidity Rankings

Tebow would have done nothing due to the giant talent suck that is Front Butt Jesus.

Charlie only sucks at defense. Tebow would have still set all those records -- and gone .500 doing it.

Re: College Football 2009: Bowl College Stupidity Rankings

Gerhart should win it, but won't because of intentional ignorance on the part of East Coast and Midwest voters who in this age of tivo, have no excuse for failing to acknowledge the greatness that is Toby Gerhart.

The kid is a stud.

I'd like to see another school try to pull the "non-profit" crap for an athlete like Florida pulled with Tebow and get a blessing from the NC$$. It's just a way for boosters to pay him - and get a tax write-off in the process. Be sure to give a lot of money to "Uncle Dick".

Is that reason enough to want him to fail?

Re: College Football 2009: Bowl College Stupidity Rankings

I want him to fail because he condoned Spikes' eye gouge.

Better to say nothing than to come out and say it was fine.

Whatever floats your boat. I'm not a big Tebow guy myself, but it's hard to argue with the results on the field and I trpically don't wish ill on anyone unless the reasons are really egregious.

TBA - Gerhart just played in front of a national prime time audience. If he's truly worthy that game will help his case.

That said I'd still give it to McCoy.

Re: College Football 2009: Bowl College Stupidity Rankings

Has there been a game this year besides A+M where McCoy was the difference between winning or losing?

McCoy has not been impressive this season when he played anyone good defensively.

The Big 12 has poor defenses for the most part.

So if he's truly worthy he'll win? That's some podunk logic right there.

TBA, you're the most one-sided poster in the history of USCHO whereas I have no dog in this fight, so forgive me if I take your opinion on the matter with a grain of salt. I simply think McCoy has had a better season, but I'm at least willing to consider I might be wrong.

Re: College Football 2009: Bowl College Stupidity Rankings

Have you ever heard of Priceless? :D

I've seen both guys play a ton. McCoy has been mostly a product of his WRs and some epically poor Big 12 tackling.

Gerhart has been way more impressive for me, because the opposing defenses prepare for him and only him. Texas has a lot of weapons.

Re: College Football 2009: Bowl College Stupidity Rankings

Looks like Boise State will get the BCS berth after all.

Still borderline, but I think so.

Let's say that there are no upsets next week, and the SEC Championship loser drops to #3. We have 6 autobids for the conference champions--#1 (SEC Winner), #2 Texas, #5 Cincinnati, #7 Oregon, #8 Ohio State and #10 Georgia Tech. Two more autobids go to #3 (SEC Loser) and #4 TCU.

The last 2 will be chosen from #6 Boise State, #9 Iowa, #11 Penn State, #12 Virginia Tech and #14 Brigham Young. Since you can't select 2 at large teams from the same conference, Iowa and Penn State are competing only against each other for a bid, and that last bid will go to either Boise State or Virginia Tech--I assume nobody would pick Brigham Young over Boise State.

So--the picks will go:

No-name Bowl: #1 (SEC Winner) v #2 Texas
Rose Bowl: #7 Oregon v #8 Ohio State
Orange Bowl: #10 Georgia Tech v Third Pick
Fiesta Bowl: Second Pick v Fourth Pick
Sugar Bowl: First Pick v Fifth Pick

Given the order of the picks, I would think that Boise State likely to go to the Fiesta Bowl.
