People are also forgetting that COVID can take 4-6 weeks before it starts showing up in noticeable numbers from specific events...

All over social media related to HS Football Officiating I saw the post from BARSTOOL claiming "1000+ HS games played and not a single positive COVID test" as a result. This would have been week 3 or 4 for most of the country. There is still time... And given that its the same crowd week in/week out 2 will become 4 which will be 8 and so on...

I'll gladly admit I'm wrong in this once we make it to Halloween without an outbreak related to football... But right now we are calling the outcome as we reach Turn 1....

Yeah, that was really just the official notice of the NC$$ that they are throwing up their hands. The conferences are each free to do whatever they want. So, the ECAC will cancel for the year and the B1G will play a 71-game interlocking schedule with Hockey East.

Right now, the NCHC is planning for a November 20 return to the ice, but they're not rock solid on the date. They definitely give the impression of playing this year, however.

Arkansas State tied with Kansas State and Lousiana-Lafayette leads Iowa State. Thank god we weren't deprived of this great Big XII football!

The Ragin' Cajuns won that game by 17 points on the road. I think even the B1G might be able to beat the Big 12.

Edit: And the Red Wolves just beat KState, also on the road.
 
Key-ryst, I had no idea Notre Dame joined the ACC for football. Hopefully it is only for this year.

If we ever join any conference I want it to be the Big 10 after they get rid of their 4 interlopers and finally kick Northwestern out for too high academic requirements.
 
Big Ten now planning on playing starting Oct 24

thry are going to do rapid daily testing. THERE ISNT ENOUGH RAPID TESTS TO TO AROUND YOU FUCKING INSANE GHOULS
 
There won't be any bye weeks.

There's a three week suspension for any player testing positive.

If a team has 5% positivity rate, workouts/practices are shutdown.

With those guidelines, I sure hope they have good independent reporting protocols.
 
I think some schools will be honest about it...others will fudge it. With the way Michigan is treating their normal students and with Khaki McSleepover being in charge I wouldnt trust their numbers.

Didn't the Pac-12 say they have access to enough rapid tests or something similar? If they have it the Big Ten should.

This was inevitable...and honestly Kevin Warren has no one to blame for the failure of all this but himself. The Big Ten's lack of communication about why they were shutting down was ridiculous. It is one thing not to tell the public...they didnt tell the schools or the players and created a PR nightmare. I have no issue with him changing his mind but he mismanaged this from the jump and he proved he is way out of his element in this job.
 
The biggest problem for the B1G and PAC 12 has always been, “what if it works for the other conferences?”

Like it or not, sports are sort of working.
