Re: College Footbal 2009: Anybody want to be in the Top 5?

End of 1

Michigan 28
Delaware St 0

And the game isn't even that close.

Snicker. Giggle. Laugh. Please. This is an absolute abortion of a football game.

Re: College Footbal 2009: Anybody want to be in the Top 5?

OK is making some terrible mistakes or they could be up big in this game.

How is a helmet to helmet when it's shoulder to shoulder? Awful roughing the passer call if that's the reasoning for it.

If they want to say it was late, fine. But it was not a helmet to helmet hit.

Re: College Footbal 2009: Anybody want to be in the Top 5?

Aren't these penalties against OU really marginal, at best?

I'm asking because the announcing tandem (including the ever-ignorant but always sure-of-himself Brent Musburger) is acting like they're obvious calls that no sane person could argue with, and yet the pictures on my TV seem to say otherwise.

EDIT: In other words, TBA is right.

The roughing penalty wasn't a penalty at all, and that PI was laughable at best.

What drives me nuts is Musberger continues to play the "whatever the ref saw is obviously right" card even when he has HD replays in the booth to look at.

It's like he refuses to see the truth. I mean Musberger even says "when you go helmet to helmet they will always call it." Then he watches the replay and says nothing and Herbstreit says it was because he hit high. Last time I checked that's not a penalty!

Re: College Footbal 2009: Anybody want to be in the Top 5?

I'd also like to say the refs are obviously responsible for OU running that stupid pistol formation.

Re: College Footbal 2009: Anybody want to be in the Top 5?

That's a good point about Musburger. He decides what the right call is ahead of time, pre-replay (99.9% of the time it's whatever the officials have called). And if the replay agrees with his notion, then it's, "See, folks, that was a great call!" And if the replay disagrees, then it's, "Hey, folks, don't forget that the Ugly Betty season premier is next Friday!"

I guess I made a mistake getting home an hour and fifteen minutes after the start of the Michigan-Delaware St game. 100 points is not out of the question here.

Upset Alert:

#1 Richmond 10
Maine 14
half

You don't have any run blocking, OU. STOP DOING IT.

Cripes, now OU's best lineman is hurt.

We're seeing guys midway through the 2nd quarter that don't usually see time until the last minute of the game, if ever.
