College Basketball 2024-25

So UNC controversially gets the last bid and their AD just happens to be the head of the selection committee?
 
Indiana hires Darian DeVries from West Virginia, the other team that got jobbed far worse than Indiana by UNC this year. A clear majority of Hoosier fans wanted woman-beater Chris Beard…but some were content with McCollum. From what I read, I liked McCollum. DeVries was discussed. After reading more about DeVries, I like his pedigree. Hard to be worse than the last 8 years.
 
I've watched a few games so far, and from what I've seen the officiating has been awful. Didn't get to make the trip to Providence to see Kansas because pcp advised against it.

UNC had tutors taking tests for Student athletes and absolutely nothing happened to them so no surprise there
 
I know I paid much more attention to hockey this weekend, but zero mid-major teams made it to the sweet 16. The only high seed left is Arkansas at 10.

Midwest region went chalk with the 1, 2, 3, and 4 seeds all advancing.

NIL and the transfer portal has killed Cinderella far more than the evil stepmother ever could.
 
I mean when you have 4,200 roster spots (roughly - 12 x 350) and 1,700 people in the portal, it's basically become Recruiting 2.0.

How long before P-4 teams start sending "scouts" to SWAC games instead of high schools?
 
Last night on the eve of Maryland's sweet sixteen game it was rumored coach Kevin Willard has accepted the Villanova job. An alleged leaked text says he wasn't even at the team dinner last night.
 
The Elite Eight was 8 of the top 9 in KenPom. The only one in the Top 8 who didn’t make it was Gonzaga who had to play Houston. This is going to be the chalkiest bracket ever.
 
We were due for a non-chaotic bracket.

I’m not saying that the tournament has been boring necessarily. But sometimes the favorites hold serve.
