College Basketball 2012-2013: The Year of the Big Ten?

Re: College Basketball 2012-2013: The Year of the Big Ten?

They better buy some ****ing lottery tickets, because they did not deserve that one (I didn't even watch and I can figure that out). I called my mother with 1 minute left for live PBP because I couldn't stand it. With 6-whatever seconds left, I said GIVE THE BALL TO VANDER BLUE. When he hit the basket, she had to mess with me and not act excited. :p

Bet they would LOVE to see Butler again after losing to them on a buzzer beater in Hawaii earlier this season. Hopefully they learn how to shoot in the meantime. Madness, indeed.

When I think of Jackrabbits I think of...

Harvard can tank anytime now. I don't need New Mexico going down in the 1st round, when I have them in the Final Four.

I can't believe SU is stuck with a 10 p.m. game for the second time in three years. Really?

14 Hahvahd is giving 3 New Mexico all they can handle.

Re: College Basketball 2012-2013: The Year of the Big Ten?

New Mexico ought to be thrown out of the Union after this display.

ych! not only did I have them in the Final Four in one bracket, I actually had them in the Finals in another.

my only consolation is that the lowest score in our pool gets a refund of their entry fee for that bracket. Naturally a 9-year old (one of the bosses' kids) is in first place right now....

Very nice for Harvard, though. 2011 was their first Tournament appearance in over 50 years, and this is their first-ever Tournament win, I believe. and their two best players were suspended for a year at the start of the season as well.

What the hell were you guys thinking, buying into an Alford-led team in a tournament setting? He hasn't done crap except for one year at Missouri State (then SW Missouri State).

call it the Jesuit Pope effect maybe? It's too bad Marquette and Georgetown are in the same side of the bracket.

If we see Gonzaga play either Georgetown or Marquette in the Finals we'll know for sure that The Fix is in, eh? ;)

Re: College Basketball 2012-2013: The Year of the Big Ten?

Montana is getting curb-stomped by Syracuse.

That was ugly. I was really hoping that Weber State would beat Montana for the Big Sky title last weekend because they were the better team given Montana's injuries.

That being said, I don't think it would have mattered (assuming Weber would have played Syracuse). The Orangemen would have likely beat any team in the country last night. Impressive stuff.

4 Kansas State in trouble against 13 LaSalle.

yup they sure were at halftime. Down 18 or something like that. now tied with 3:52 left to play, however.

FWIW, in our NCAA pool of 50 players, President Obama is currently tied for 38th.....2nd place is a 9-year old. Go figure.

Edit: KState 61, LaSalle 60, 1:25 left. LaSalle ball.

LaSalle wins, 63 - 61.

Great stuff! three 12 seeds win, a 13 seed wins, a 14 seed wins (so far). these four days for me are usually the best four days of the year for sports. next year I should probably just take thursday and friday off! :)
