College Basketball 2009-10: The Road to the Road to Lucas Oil

Re: College Basketball 2009-10: The Road to the Road to Lucas Oil

The stadium would have exploded if that happened...it would be the story of the year...maybe the greatest ending to a game ever.

Although it was really close if he got it off in time. In fact, I'm not 100% sure he did. If it had gone in only to have it not count cause it was still in his hand by a tenth of a second...there would've been a riot.

I can sometimes understand the disliking of Duke, but maybe it's just me but this is easily one of the more likable Duke teams in years. They just seem to go out there and work their tails off every game.

The only guy I hated on this year's Duke team was the guy who looked like a cross between Freddy Prinze Jr. and Eddie Haskell. His facial expressions and antics on the court scream "frat boy ******."

That said, I think Singler was the one who got absolutely laid out on the pick on the last shot. That was awesome.

BC's next coach is Steve Donahue, formerly of Cornell. Nice to see the hockey schools sticking together.

If Butler couldn't win last night God, please let Stanford beat UCONN.

Thanks,

Haven't seen Stanford play much but me thinks the difference will be athletes, UConn has a bench full.

Not that I have ever really paid attention to women's bball, but I was under the impression coming with 15 of UCONN is basically the best you're going to do. Haven't they not lost in 2.5 years or so?

Their last loss was in the 2008 Final Four to Stanford (and UConn beat them in the Final Four last year). Stanford's only loss this year is also to UConn (meaning their last two losses are to UConn), having led by 2 at the half but eventually losing by 12. Stanford can possibly do it, but will have to really be on (which is tough with Appel still possibly not at 100%).

Well this is a surprise. UConn shoots 17 percent in the first half and trails Stanford 20-12 at the halftime whistle.

Yes, there were 32 combined points scored in a half. How is this sport more popular than hockey?

I fail to see how hiring a coach away constitutes "sticking together".

Tonight's lesson so far: don't awaken UConn.

This game is pretty brutal to watch.

I can enjoy women's hockey, soccer, and softball, but basketball just doesn't translate very well from the men's game.

Although seeing the Cardinal lose in anything is always nice.

As a Cal fan, were you even able to understand the concept of a team playing in an important postseason game? :D

Yeah the first 10-15 minutes of the second half were just brutal. They started to show something near the end, but too little too late.

Oh man... I love me some women's soccer. That was what got me into reffing when I was younger. Nothing like reffing U18 girls in the rain when you were a 14 year old guy. :D

Women's basketball was set back about 30 years last night. They may never recover. All of the sudden there's no passing in their game either.
