Colgate @ RPI (ECAC Playoffs) March 4,5...

Re: Colgate @ RPI (ECAC Playoffs) March 4,5...

And don't forget Eugene Binda, Jr. causing both Colgate's and RPI's pep bands to play 3 Blind Mice together back when these two teams met in the 2007 ECAC Playoffs...

Oh geez, I remember that. I think that was the last year he reffed a game in the ECAC.

Re: Colgate @ RPI (ECAC Playoffs) March 4,5...

We do. John Murphy, Peter Feola, Andy O'Brien, Chip McDonald, Tim Kotyra (the latter two we'll see Fri. and Sat. night) ...

Feola went to the Olympics. (end debate) /ps

Boy, that list looks awfully familiar. But wait a minute, you're not an RPI or SLU fan, you're not supposed to have a list of referees you know suck. :p

Re: Colgate @ RPI (ECAC Playoffs) March 4,5...

complain about refs enough and it hurts the team and gives the fans the aura of being whiners, which is where this is heading if it keeps up. Nothing more time honored than being known as the whiners of the ecac...maybe we can take that title away from cornell if we try hard enough.

It'd be a tough task beating SLU on this one, as RC had mentioned. In a joke score recap pre-season, "SLU(t)" had lost to "Clarkson (Sucks!)", and it was actually written there that it was all on account of the reffing.

I haven't had a chance yet to listen to Slap Schotts to hear if Coach had any sage words about this weekend's series.

I did not get a chance to listen either, however I would guess that one could fairly easily predict his response...

'Colgate is playing really well right now and they are a tough team to play at this time of the season. They have nothing to lose and everything to gain, so that we expect them go be very difficult to beat.

'That being said, we are glad to have all our players healthy and ready to go. As long as we play good defense and put the puck in the net more times than they do, we'll be fine.'

Nothing about needing to be a tough team to play against? Or about process? (wait, that's postgame)

Re: Colgate @ RPI (ECAC Playoffs) March 4,5...

Any Time Warner coverage of the games ??

No live "TV" coverage. ECAC Hockey finally released their press release about streaming coverage on America One. $8 a game.

While I'm fundamentally opposed to America One on principle, it is the only way to watch live broadcasts of RPI TV's sports coverage. If you're on the fence about ponying up $8 for the stream, consider watching any of the links below to preview the type of video you'll be getting. We're adding two or three more cameras for this weekend (a 240 fps super-slow motion camera, a center-ice camera, and possibly a reverse angle shot) to bring our total camera number up to nine or ten. I'm also trying to get Colgate Radio integrated in to the America One broadcast as an option for Colgate fans (emailed WRCU yesterday, no response yet). Just remember that America One has a fairly low video resolution (550kbps, I believe) and doesn't exactly have the best customer service.

Not to mention, it doesn't work with Linux.

However, I'm excited to see what you guys can do with the other cameras. I also heard about your budget on one of RPI's lists... I look forward to your HD coverage next year! :)

That was very kind of you. I would have used a word that RPI fans at the HFH use all of the time. :)

Sure, just not when children are present. :)

It could be what the Banana Slug Muffins did in Tampa, and changed it to "Lacks Moral Fiber". Don't worry, RC, I'd root for CCT before that ever happens, even if it helps us in the PWR.

Can we watch if we bought the Season Pass?

Can you elaborate re: coverage for next year?

I'm not sure of the exact details, but a post on RPISPORT-L (I think) said that RPI-TV was awarded a substantial amount in the Union budget, and they will be using it to go to HD productions.

Clever getting money from Union. ;)

Haha, given my position in the club it's one of my jobs to be as tactful as possible.

That's a great question. I'm not sure. I'm leaning toward no, since the streams are through "ECAC Hockey" rather than "RPI Athletics". I'm not seeing the games listed on RPI's America One page, and ECAC Hockey doesn't have any active links yet.

Last night the E-Board approved close to $25,000 for the purchase of an additional HD Camera and an HD Video Switcher. We were already allocated $15,000 in equipment back in January. We're expecting additional funding from the Alumni House as well. By next fall we hope to be in full HD with a fleet of five HD cameras, an HD switcher, HD graphics and titles, HD Replays, and more. Now if only our live content wasn't restricted to America One...

What good is this stuff going to do with RPI Athletics insisting on sticking with B2 as the provider? What a joke. Maybe you can get some more $$ allocated to "convince" the powers that be to finally see things rationally.
