Colgate and Starr's last season

Re: Colgate and Starr's last season

According to Heisenberg Gallant is a 2018 recruit, commit yesterday. Did anyone notice Meyer, a huge D-man?

Re: Colgate and Starr's last season

I didn't think Cornell could get any bigger but, they have thirteen guys 6-3 or larger and one is 6-7!! As of an hour ago(10am) there were 50 tickets left for Saturday. I guess the only way to watch Friday will be the IVY League Network streaming. Time Warner showing RIT

SUBSCRIPTION ALERT!

Shabby is correct, you will need to purchase video for Friday's game through the Ivy League Digital Network. Last I checked, it's $9.95 for a 24-hour pass. But for about $16, you can get a league-wide 1-month pass. Purchasing the 1-month pass also gets you the games at Brown and Yale on November 20 and 21 for no additional cost. I strongly recommend this option.

I did this in October for the Cornell & Princeton football games. Only caution I'd throw out is if you sign up for the 1 month pass you must do so with a credit card that automatically renews monthly, so you have to remember to go back in and cancel the subscription before November ends. And of course they don't make it easy to cancel the subscription, you have to either call them or chat with one of their reps online. It is a good option if you plan on catching all three games online... but for simplicity's sake I might go with the day passes at a slightly higher cost if you're seeing less than all the games this way.

But can they skate?

Re: Colgate and Starr's last season

They have a couple that can get moving but for the most part we were able to skate around them with our speed. Of course, if they clutch & grab it gets a little difficult.

That's what we like to hear !

Re: Colgate and Starr's last season

I cancelled my subscription via e-mail; I had a reply and my subscription was cancelled within 24 hrs. Here is the email I sent with address (ildn = ivy league digital network)

To ildnsupport@neulion.com

To Whom It May Concern:

Please cancel the monthly subscription to the Ivy League Digital Network for this email account.

Thank you.

Did not pick 'Gate to win this weekend - not even on Colgate Day - but hope I am dead wrong. Can't stand the video feed from Starr that shows row after row of empty, reserved seats. Please put the camera facing the student section in Class of '65 Arena. I often sat behind the Colgate goal...that is, until it became lame, reserved seating where the camera's impression of empty bleachers is even worse.

Re: Colgate and Starr's last season

Big home and home versus the red this week. I think Cornell will be a better team this year compared to the past few so getting at least 2 points this weekend is necessary. Last year we lost in OT at home which may have cost us an at large ncaa bid. Let's hope for a road win tonight so we enter Starr with no pressure and a lot to gain. Cornell will be hungry however after that loss to Quinnipiac Saturday when they led 3-0 and 4-1 and lost. Let's hope for a fast start in favor of the Raiders.

Re: Colgate and Starr's last season

Just awful, what's wrong with Finn this year ? They got embarrassed, again!

I agree, we sat right behind our bench and got a good view of the player's expressions and some harsh words....Finn wasn't seeing anything! 2 shots hit him in the shoulder and went in. At least 3, and probably the 4th goals he should have stopped. Everybody is entitled to a bad day, but he has already had a few this year. All of our shots were coming from the perimeter. We sure liked to shoot into their shin pads tonight, seemed like they had a ton of blocked shots from way out. We just don't have the type of team to come back from 3-1 in that environment. That was embarrassing! Going over tomorrow night....I hope our boys show up...we can beat them!

Re: Colgate and Starr's last season

Jeckel and Hyde . Great game in game 2 of providence series and QU Then this game. I am a Finn fan but gotta go with Racine or Hamilton tomorrow.

Looking forward to getting into town and seeing the game tomorrow, regardless of tonight's performance. Even with the talk of their size.....our play made them appear even more dominant. Spoiled last year from good screens and quick shots from the point.....sometimes I feel there's too much delay to get a shot on net with this group. I'll end with a positive observation......we didn't test Cornells goalie to any degree and he seemed slow on getting across the crease with some of those wrap around attempts. Hopefully the boys can make some quick adjustments and end this great rivalry properly at Starr.

Re: Colgate and Starr's last season

I was surprised by how passive Gate was. They started very flat and fell behind 2-zip in the first 150 seconds. That ought to have thrown the fear of god into them, but they never really recovered fully.

Finn's a solid goalie but looked lost tonight. Racine, in contrast, looked quite good even when we challenged him. OTOH, if Gate is going to ride Finn they have little choice but to go back to him Saturday and hope he snaps out of it.

Re: Colgate and Starr's last season

I would go with Racine too.....Finn did look lost out there.....not sure how you can't get it together for a game like that in that rink! Maybe that would send a message to Finn, but I doubt Don will make the move. We seem to play pretty good the night after a loss...fortunately and unfortunately. Cornell totally dominated us at times and literally were skating circles around us...not typical Colgate hockey...maybe the whole team was lost last night. Let's see how we respond.

First game at Starr rink.....12-11-59.....Colgate vs. Cornell......3-2.

Lets hope we can end this series at beautiful Starr Rink with another win!!!!
Go 'gate!!!!!!!!!!!
