Colgate 2023-24

IBP...always on the ball...my "green coats" are of a somewhat lesser stature...a few club championships after choking for many years...no LP this year, but have decided to up my Class of 65 presence in the future...frankly, the sands of time demand it...

IBT sorry...Atlantic City was a horrible idea but we made it twice, losing to Yale after winning three-game series against RPI and #1 ranked-Union (Wade Poplaski thank you)...finished 2010-11 with an 11-28-3 mark I think...next year was the Austin Smith/Chris Wagner show, losing to Union in AC...BTW Austin was robbed of the Hobey that year...still bitter

College Committments shows twelve recruits for next year already. Two goalies, two defensemen, and eight forwards. One of our larger classes in recent years I think.

Ben Franklin once said, “But in this world, nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes”.

He forgot Colgate men’s ice hockey playing St. Lawrence in the ECAC playoffs.

Just wanted to pop in and say that as a long time men's hockey supporter who had been attracted for the last 5 or so years to the women's more exciting playing style and success, this first year under Coach Harder has been so much fun to witness. I'm loving the speed and pace we now play at. Sure we still make mistakes and struggle on penalty kills but I always feel even when down we are capable of winning which I did not feel for the longest time. Worse, I felt we had become a "taken for granted" afterthought in the ECAC and beyond. I'm thinking now that few teams want to play us and hope this is just the start of a new exciting era!

On another note, as a big supporter of Holy Cross coming into the league instead of Q when UVM left (Q's then brand new arena won the day), I would love to see the scheduling gods add HC and BU, fellow PL members, to the schedule on an annual basis going forward. In the late 60s we played BU often and those games were really, really fun to attend and both are natural competitors. With HC getting better each year and BU at the top of their game now they would both be a welcome addition...much more natural fits than LIU for example.

SLU will be very tough but I think RPI did us a favor ending Clarkson's season as we would have hosted Union. Union won 6-0 and is playing very well.

Get rid of this "one and done" format. You have a decent season and run into a hot goalie etc and your getting out the golf clubs ! Can't believe Clarkson, not right !

Colgate vs SLU best of three next weekend, women NCAA game home next weekend. Possible double header at 65 saturday ?

yes, Colgate plays the winner of Stonehill/Cornell...watched the entire WIH win against Clarkson...thought both teams played well and enjoyed Pierre on the color call with Mr. McGraw...a great pair when listening to hockey...expect tight games with SLU (they almost always are)...hope students are back in Hamilton next weekend...

Shabby - according to Stonehill's schedule, they will play Cornell on Thursday night at 7 pm. Magoo - yes, the winner of that game plays Colgate on Saturday at 3 pm. I attended both games this past weekend and what amazing games!! I connected with Dan Delanaides '86 before the game on Friday. As mentioned on this thread, his daughter Lily plays for Cornell and Dan played gaolie for 'gate, backup to Jeff Cooper for 3 years and then starting goalie for a year. The game against Clarkson was thrilling and you could cut the tension in the arena with a knife! Clarkson fans and pep band were very vocal. A wonderful ending to a great weekend of hockey!! Congrats to all involved!!!! Go 'gate!!!!

Does Colgate play the winner?

The Cornell - Stonehill women's hockey game is THUR Mar 14, 7:00 pm in class of 1965 arena.

Colgate women's hockey team plays the winner of that game on Saturday, Mar 16, at 3:00 pm in the class of 1965 arena.

Saturday will be great day for Colgate hockey. Women followed by men at 7:00 versus SLU.

I don't see the women's tickets on sale yet on the Colgate athletics website.
