The anomaly is that Colgate is a misfit. The Ivies have their own brand, D-III schools with revered D-I hockey programs have their own brand (Clarkson, RPI, St. Lawrence, Union), and then there's Colgate and Qpac (almost 8,000 undergrads alone, accepts 70% of its applicants), which are arguably more dissimilar than they are similar. I would guess that hockey reigns supreme at Qpac; they belong to the MAAC in most sports but play more notable schools through the ECAC. Pecknold has built a dynasty there and their women's team is not far behind.
However, recruiting top-notch hockey talent with an AI that fits the Colgate mold - ranked #18 among liberal arts colleges...
