Re: Colgate 2014-15

Harvard has had our number, although Dartmouth has been playing outstanding our confidence has to be better against them than harvard

Re: Colgate 2014-15

Looks like all of the remaining teams are playing their best hockey right now, not sure I want to play any of them. No surprise that #4/#5 teams are so similar. Our 1-0-1 record against Dartmouth is out the window now.

In the series sweep, the Big Green only scored 4 goals against the Tigers (and an ENG) and only took 3 penalties. I am more concerned with getting the puck past Kruger, who is a Big Green Wall at 6'3" compared to lanky Finn. We have to keep Eric Neily off the score sheet. Others to watch are Eric Robinson, Grant Opperman and Tyler Sikura.

Time to see if a first round bye will make a difference. It won't hurt Colgate, but it's business as usual for Dartmouth. They didn't have to travel for their playoff series so they will be more than ready.

Our season seems to have come full circle with a (mostly) healthy roster.
Here's to Spiro! Get the sweep, Colgate!

Re: Colgate 2014-15

Going to be some tough games next week for everybody, Q can't be thrilled about having the defending national champs coming to their place after sweeping the big red at Lynah and Yale can't be too happy about a healthier Harvard coming as well. Whoever wins that Y/H series will surely knock somebody out of the ncaa bubble for sure as well. SLU has the easiest match with either RPI or CU coming to their barn but they need some quality wins which means they very well may have to win the ecac playoffs to get in. I don't think they would move up enough in the PWR with just one win at placid to make the tourney sitting where they are right now at 22 in the PWR.

We will have our hands full with the big green but we still sit in a great spot to make an ncaa bid if we can do our part. I think a sweep next week would see us at 15 or 16 in the PWR, hopefully we can get some luck as well with other teams losing. Also, remember SCSU must have a winning record to be eligible and they are currently one game back of .500 and are now on the road to UNO for playoffs. Hopefully the catamounts lose today as well to Maine.

Re: Colgate 2014-15

Just checked the team site to see if schedule / times for this weekend were posted. The weekend schedule is up but no video link highlighted. Does anyone know if the games against Dartmouth will be streamed through Colgate's Channel 1 / 2?

Re: Colgate 2014-15

They usually don't show if it's being streamed until later in the week. I wish someone knew something about Spiro, this will be eight weeks I believe, they said 4-6 weeks he'd be out. Starting to wonder if he's done, sure hope not. It would be so great if he comes back and leads us deep into the playoffs.

The way we're playing now, and rested, anything can happen ! Can't wait till this weekend.

No, they will not be streamed on the Patriot League Network on the Colgate web site. Playoff games are being streamed through BoxCast and will be $9.95 per game as per ECAC Hockey. The video link on the Colgate web site will be updated once the actual links are established by BoxCast and the league.

In regards to the price, this has been the standard procedure over the last few years where playoff video has been pay-to-watch.

Re: Colgate 2014-15

We're in basically the same position that we were in last year, regarding our PWR status. Last year we were actually 16th going into our quarterfinal series with SLU, but they were 29th. This year we're 18th in the PWR, but Dartmouth is 23rd. Sweeping the Big Green, then winning a semifinal matchup against Quinnipiac or Yale, should put us in a good position to make the NCAA's. However, there are multiple outcomes that we cannot control, so for now, our focus should be on defeating Dartmouth and advancing to Lake Placid. Winning in two is strongly preferred over winning in three.

We also want the following results next weekend (preferably sweeps):

Yale over Harvard
Nebraska-Omaha over St. Cloud
Notre Dame over UMass-Lowell
Penn State over Minnesota

Re: Colgate 2014-15

My guess is that even if Spiro is ready to go, this won't become common knowledge until game time. Don't want to give Dartmouth TMI beforehand.

Re: Colgate 2014-15

I thought all of you posters (who don't live in Hamilton) would want to know that the lights and bleachers on the old soccer field (new hockey arena site) are being taken down. Signs of lots more to come. Go 'Gate!!

Thanks for the heads-up CU13. Looking forward to being in the new rink. In the meantime we have some business to take care of with Dartmouth.

Re: Colgate 2014-15

Quiet here entering the playoffs, I guess there's not much news. We're as healthy as we've been, playing as good as we have all year. Just time to show everyone what this team can do.

Re: Colgate 2014-15

Any word on spiro?

Spiro has been skating - there is a RUMOR that he might have a SLIM chance of being able to play some. If he does I'd be surprised if it's anywhere near a regular shift. We've done really well the last 6 or 8 games with bascially 5 defensemen.

I know how we can get to the NCAA's - just win 4 more games! Then we don't have to worry about the kratch and the scratch and the pwr and the sos and the rpi and the lol and the .........

Just win. GO 'GATE

If he can only go sparatically we might not want him out there. I hope that we blow them out but in all probability it will be a tight close game. Do you want to have a short bench late in the third trying to hold on or deep into a prolonged OT?
