Re: Colgate 2014-15

When you look at the attendance figures, Albany didn't do too badly. Compared to LP the numbers are about the same, and certainly better than AC. The tourney in Boston did well, but attendance dipped toward the end of its run ( maybe HE had something to do with that?). The knock against Albany has been the site not being very seccy, but it is more centrally located to all schools, has interstate highways leading to it, and doesn't require a trip on back roads to reach a smallish town with limited housing. I know LP is favored for the HB arena and Olympic heritage but....I say "Bring Back Albany." :)

Lord have mercy....Get back on your meds or increase them...lol. You have to be joking.

Page 7, 2013 and 2014 First Round, and quarter final round have all the same teams playing and each game has the identical score. Also in 2014, Colgate manages to make it to the semi finals without playing a game in the 1st round or quarter final round. :D And Cornell makes it to the semi-finals despite losing to Quinny in the Quarter-finals. I did not know Schafer had that much pull in the league. ;)

The league is trying (and I think rightfully so) trying to make a home for itself. Lake placid is about the best place it can do so since HE has Boston and we aren't going to go down to MSG. Plus, for kids in the US playing hockey it might give ECAC a one up on other leagues.

It's kind of like our annual beating in the Dome In basketball, yea we get beat but how many teams in the patriot league can basically guarantee a player four games in the largest venue for college basketball

Who's talking about attendance?! I'm talking about WINNING and we sure as &*#% never had any luck there...especially when we were robbed! For my personal convenience it couldn't be beat, but the arena is awful and was always too warm.

Taken straight from our up-to-date ECAC Hockey page under 'tournaments'! We are one classy league

I was at the Brown Colgate game at Meehan. Your team was scary good. Impressive teamwork, passing. well oiled machine is a perfect description. As I posted on the Brown thread, my reaction was why Colgate's record wasn't better than it is. If you play as well as you did against Brown, and Brown played a solid game, you can win the playoffs. BTW, is Lidgett the fastest skater in the ECAC?

Re: Colgate 2014-15

For me the thing about Lake Placid vs. Albany is that for most of us, LP is a destination, not a night. So, hanging out in Placid on Friday afternoon, night, Saturday and Saturday night means running into other 'Gate fans and doing fun things the village has to offer. I never felt that way in Albany.

Injuries. We haven't had all the players in our roster available for a single game all year. First half it was Tylor Spink who was out. When he recovered Borkowski was hurt, and once HE came back, Spiro had been injured two weeks prior.

Bingo! Plus, I never understood the whole driving on back roads theory that some people post. It is not that difficult of a drive in reality, but some people like to make it appear as though it is. Maybe these are the same people I am constantly honking my horn at for slamming on their breaks and driving 45 in a 55 MPH zone? ;)

Re: Colgate 2014-15

No joke. OK, OK....I give up. I can see I haven't persuaded any of you to jump on the Albany bandwagon. I know the arena is awful, and the ice is not the best but..... It's easy for Saints and Golden Knights fans to say LP is no problem to get to, but how about the fans of the other 10 league teams? Yes, the atmosphere is nice in LP, and we can all reconnect with our fans, but....

Heck, you gotta admit Jack's Oyster House around the corner in Albany is a big plus...;)

Don't forget to vote for Spiro for the Senior Class Award @ seniorclassaward.com

And Charlie Finn or Kyle Baun for the Hobey Baker Award. Let's put these guys in the lead.
