Clarkson 2013 - 14

Re: Clarkson 2013 - 14

As you may guess from the user name, Harvard alumnus and fan. Just wanted to jump to your thread to say congratulations of the championship and for proving that eastern hockey is a match for the west.
Thanks!

Jamie Lee Rattray not selected for Team Canada training camp: http://www.hockeycanada.ca/en-ca/Team-Canada/Women/Under-22/2014-15/Conditioning-Camp/Roster

Seems like an odd decision. Is there history there?

There is no history (problem wise) that I'm aware off. Note that this is the camp for the U18/U22, and JLR is a 92 born and no longer eligible for this, so your post might be a bit pre-mature. She was actually one of the 13 call-ups for the national camp last fall, so I'd be shocked if she does not get an invite to the main camp this year.

"2012" roster. Gotta love when people cut and paste into old documents...or in this case, the body coding of a web page.

The roster listed on the HC site is actually this years season 2014-2015, in the case of U22 covering birth years 93-96.

Having said that, would agree that the HC website tends to be confusing at times. It is a real challenge to try find a roster or info on a National Team (any gender/age group). You often have to navigate several layers and confusing hoops to get the spot/info you are looking for, even if it is fro the current year. :( :o

Rattray is headed for the NWT fitness camp in May

Yes, ran into that as well, but as a canuck decided to not go there (complaining about the site that is ) for the fear of the wrath of many on here. :D

It is actually kind of embarrasing. Something like that should be easy to look up and facilitate, specially for the grass root youngsters to be able to look up to their icons and see what they have accomplished in the past, and who is or might be on the team now.

Shannon Desrosiers is stepping aside from her co-head coaching duties to devote more time to her growing family (Kid #2 is on the way).

Shouldn't be too hard to find another assistant coach, since they're National Champions. But they definitely need one quick because Shannon was the Offensive Coach, both the Matts were defensemen.
This may also hurt the true Family feeling they had without the Husband-Wife coaching pairing. Be interesting to see how it all works out.
Headed up there in a few weeks for Graduation. Wish I was headed up there to watch some hockey though.
