Clarkson 2013 - 14

Re: Clarkson 2013 - 14

And I think I've just had my "Clarkson" moment...I think I just figured out how to use that multi-quote function...I may not be able to sleep tonight!!! .

Well you were close on the multi-quote, but not 100%. You missed a opening bracket, and the second quote ended up blended in as content on your post, rather than a quote.

Message here is that if you quote and edit ( or is that edit and quote :D ) make sure you got all your opening and closing brackets and the proper begin and end sequences right, otherwise it will look messy and to some down right confusing as to who said who or what to whom.

Thanks, it looked ok when I was posting but after posting not so much, which is why I said "now that I look at it...sort of".

I thought that I had kept the brackets in tact but I guess not. I'll have to refer to your post if and when I ever try to use that function again.

I must say though, extraordinary sportsmanship by the Minnesota posters here on the thread! Well done fellas.

The Minnesota posters, players, coaches, and fans in Hamden last night. As a Clarkson fan, I stood and applauded every one of the Minnesota players and the Minnesota team after the game and many of the Minnesota fans did the same for our Knights. Who wouldn't want to cheer the ladies on both teams? They entertained the heck out of us for 60 minutes and left everything they had out on the ice.

Kudos also to the Clarkson Band, perhaps the biggest (if there were any) underdogs going into the weekend. They were spirited, lively, and entertaining even some moments that might reduce others to silence.

And I totally loved that Golden Knight mascot!

Seen the band on many occasions. They do a great job supporting their team at Cheel. Never seen that mascot before.

The Knight has been around men's games for years. I think it started (or restarted) when I was an undergrad in the mid-90's. Some skated better than others.

It was pretty awesome to see the mascots of the big schools too. I really thought Bucky should have won on Friday night because he (she?) came out with a stick and Goldy came out bare-handed.

If you are asking about the gender of the human inside the costume, no idea. But if you're asking whether Bucky is male or female, Buckingham U Badger is definitely a "he".

(The question a friend of mine always asks is "Where are his pants? He's wearing a sweater, but no pants! Below the waist? All fur!! :-)

Even we weren't sure about how the band would turn out because our students were on break. There was no bus for the band or anything of the sort. The band members and a few alumni band members certainly showed their colors through the weekend and all season. They showed up to the women's home games to play for a crowd of dozens during the regular season and frequently split to send contingents to both the men's and women's games.

They were great! Thought the knight could be cuddlier though.

Cuddly? Who the heck wants a cuddly knight? To not scare away the kids you say? Well, they grow their kids tough in the North Country...and when they don't come tough, they can always root for the Saints.

All the Bucky Badgers are male.

Maybe Goldy came out ready for a fight. :D

Nothing better than a good old Mascot Tussle a La at Brewer Park :D

Congrats to the Lady Knights for a Great Season and accomplishment. I guess Northern NY just may be the new hot spot for woman's hockey with the Lady Knights and Lady Cardinals of Plattsburgh taking both Championships in Women's Hockey!!!

Congrats to both Clarkson and Plattsburgh. Way to go North Country women!!

FYI, Clarkson's band, when they are all there, is the best in college hockey, bar none. Yesterday represented them at their most ad hoc, and as someone mentioned, had a large proportion of alumni who just showed up unasked. The tones weren't as rich as we have come to expect due to the available horns, but they were very very spirited and loud. Playing Oh Canada was an inspiration!! And thanks for the few bars of the old Alma Mater they were able to fit in before the public address took over for the third.
