Nothing is in it for them. It's not a move anyone would support at face value. I wasn't advocating for this scenario, only pointing out that if you think about it Mankato has more value to the Nachos than Miami State does.
I don't think anyone wants Mankato to leave, but I'm curious if Mankato still covets a move to the Nachos.
I don't have any idea what the people in authority think, but I can't think we're strongly wanting out. We can still schedule the schools that our fans want to see (UMD, SCSU, MN, an occasional UND, UNO, or an Eastern team) without having to play CC or Denver or Miami, schools that really wouldn't produce revenue or fan interest. We've also found out that we can have a national footprint and a chance to compete for the big prize without being in the NCHC. Is there slightly less margin for error? Yeah, and we're likely out of the running for high draft picks, but there's more than one way to be competitive.
