CCHA Championship Weekend: (2) Michigan, (3) Western Michigan, (4) Miami, and (11) BG

Re: CCHA Championship Weekend: (2) Michigan, (3) Western Michigan, (4) Miami, and (11

I can understand the confusion around here. I've often confused repeatedly kicking a prone 5'9 defenseman with a skate blade with "being physical".

:o

They should have hit him with a stick while he was on the ground, and it should have been 2 on 1 behind the play

You're actually going to make me quote McGwire On The Stand?

I take exception to the title of this thread. The CCHA has always re-seeded between rounds. Should read:
CCHA Championship Weekend: (1) Michigan, (2) Western Michigan, (3) Miami, and (4) Bowling Green

you could also read it that your team has went on the road two weekends and did what #1,5,6,7,8,9,10 couldn't do.

Some people never learn.

We have lots of good players, sure. some may consider them loaded. I don't, and in no manner are they the most depth I've seen on a Michigan team. That would be '96, and we lost in the national Semi.

Maybe the 4th line would be the #1 line on some teams, but not on any of the teams that are heading to the Joe.

Hunwick- very good. But not Marty Turco.

As for the rest- this is the CCHA Championship, not the NCAA, and for sure not the Frozen Four- so lets not get too far ahead.

Moving on to the rest of the weekend....

Miami is a great team, and, like Michigan, isn't really pressured to win this weekend to play next weekend. For the most part, teams that don't have that burdon seem to do well on the weekend- so I do like Miami vs. Michigan in the championship game.

OTOH, there are years where the teams that HAVE to win, do. Western needs a win to make sure they make the final 16, that's a lot of reason to play. IMHO, that win NEEDS to happen Friday, unless they play Michigan on Saturday- a win against BGSU doesn't help much. They barely have it on MSU at the moment, and with how fluid the PWR is, I can't really predict how other tournaments play to their advantage. That should make the WMU-Miami game a real barn burner Friday.

As for BGSU. Wow, where did they come from?? Can they beat Michigan? No question- they did a few weeks ago. Can they beat Michigan AND WMU/Miami? That would be the only way they get in- as the last place CCHA team isn't going get invited to the dance on it's season's merit.

All I know is that Michigan and Miami will be playing next weekend. Other than that, percentages favor Michigan, incumbents favor Miami, "need" favors Western, and Cinderella favors Bowling Green.

Well said.

Let's see if BG brings their glass slippers!

I'm expecting a win for whichever nacho team advances. :) But really, as long as Michigan loses, I'll be good. I'd prefer not BG, I suppose. Don't need any upsets stealing spots from bubble schools.

Cinderella REALLY put up a fight against Percentages, but Percentages come out in front after 2 OTs.

Championship game is Western Michigan @ Michigan.

Consolation- Bowling Green @ Miami.

"Championship game is Need @ Percentages

Consolation- Cinderella @ Incumbent"

Western made Miami look incredibly average tonight. I don't see UM beating them saturday. I see WMU winning 4-2, and ...well, who cares about the jv game.

The CCHA has just tweeted that the third place game will be streamed live over at the RedWings.NHL.com video page.

I think this is the first time ever that the CCHA has aired the Walt Kyle Invitational.

...if they're streaming the game, they did a good job at making sure nobody would be able to find the feed.

It looks like you can get the direct link from the CCHA's tweet (http://t.co/KqVtsV1J), but there's no way to actually get to the feed by navigating through the Red Wings webpage.

So, the officials wait until 15 minutes left to take turns sticking each team's d1ck in the meat grinder.

Anyone else thinking the NCHC, WCHA and Big Ten will be playing paper rock scissors not to take some of these guys?

Merrill's major should have been a non-call, especially after seeing the replay. He didn't even move his leg, and O'Kane skated into him.

Western's major wasn't as bad, but not by much. That should have been a 2-boarding call, but no, Stevie Wonder and Roy Orbison came up with that to even things out.

That crew was so bad of an abortion, it ****ed off Planned Parenthood.
