CCHA Championship Weekend: (2) Michigan, (3) Western Michigan, (4) Miami, and (11) BG

Re: CCHA Championship Weekend: (2) Michigan, (3) Western Michigan, (4) Miami, and (11

That PP we gave you with a minute left in the 2nd had me biting my fingernails, frankly.

Hoping like hell we get sent out east somehow.Union for a 3rd time (2 ties on their home ice) or a hot North Dakota team who has scored the last 10 goals either in Green Bay or worse St. Paul. Huh. I think I know which one I'd prefer.

Anyone have any speculation as to why there wasn't a CCHA team placed in each regional?

Because of the PWR? Going into selection Sunday, it was pretty much accepted that BC, Air Force, UMD and another Hockey East team would be in Worcester.

They've also made sure since the 2005 WCHA Final Five II that no conference has teams in all 4 regions, I think.

B@WMU, good to see you're still floating around. You've been through a lot of ugly losses to Michigan, nice that you get to enjoy a mountain-top like this.

Definitely. You can definitely call us Bronco fans "longsuffering." ;)

I don't come in as much as I used to, but I might be around a bit more this week. If the Broncos had been put in Green Bay, I might have chanced a ticket and a visit with an old friend I haven't seen since we were kids.

So what's the logic in that? It would make a more diverse tourney to spread out the teams of a single conference.

It's okay that you don't remember when 4 WCHA teams made the frozen four...
How is that a problem if they all start out in different regionals? If they all advance then they earned it!

They clearly prefer a diverse Frozen Four over diverse regionals. With three Western and three Eastern conferences next year, it'll probably become less of a potential problem anyway.
