CC/DU vs. Mercyhurst & Air Force

Re: CC/DU vs. Mercyhurst & Air Force

Quote from Denver's Joe Colborne in the DU student paper:

"These games are huge for us. This weekend has big implications for our national rankings and could end up being the difference between being ranked a No. 1 seed in the national tournament or being a much lower seed. We need these two wins,” said sophomore Joe Colborne.

Nice to see the Pioneers are taking this weekend seriously.

Re: CC/DU vs. Mercyhurst & Air Force

What are the chances for Air Force to earn a spot in the NCAAs?
If they could, it would be possible for all three Colorado teams to make the tournament. That would be cool.

Re: CC/DU vs. Mercyhurst & Air Force

Air Force has no chance of making the NCAA's via Pairwise. They are #44 in RPI.

The only chance is for Air Force win the AHA Tournament which they have done the past several seasons. That being said, they are not quite as good this season as they've been in the past.

Colorado College is certainly starting to look like a "Bubble Team." They have been losing lately and are down to #10 in Pairwise. They should win two easy games this weekend, but they need to at least split their remaining WCHA games against Minnesota, UND & DU. Losing in the 1st Round of the WCHA playoffs might be a death blow.

Good chance for some of the guys who don't play much to make a contrbution and show what they can do this weekend.

CC is at a weird stage in the season. They have been hit hard by injuries in the past few weeks. We've seen Stephen Shultz get injured on a knee-to-knee hit. Mike Testwuide has been playing through an injury and the same can be said about Gabe Guentzel and Tyler Johnson. On the other hand, the Tigers are getting scoring from everyone including almost every freshman on the roster. Even though they are a bubble team, they are looking more and more like a dark horse threat for the playoffs.

On Saturday, I really hope DU doesn't embarrass the WCHA by losing to Air Force. The #2 team should be the Falcons by at least 4 or 5 goals. Anything less will be shocking.

Where is Mercyhurst? and also doesn't Lake Superior State share the same mascot?
Yes, Mercyhurst is the Lakers

It would be great if the Goal Czar could get untracked.

Gifford may not be a scoring machine, but he will be missed.:(

Re: CC/DU vs. Mercyhurst & Air Force

My Direct TV guide shows Denver vs Air Force on channel 683!!!!
Saturday, 9:00pm!!!
You are smart. You have DirecTV & FCS-Rocky Mountain.

du78 isn't so lucky. He has Comcast or some other regional cable provider. :)

I'm sure once Air Force jumps to a three goal lead on DU, Serratore will call off the dogs. Probably start double shifting the fourth line and maybe throw in the third string goalie. :)

Re: CC/DU vs. Mercyhurst & Air Force

Chambers just updated his blog and Murray may play on Friday and Chevy is definitely playing on Staurday.

Mercyhurst is in Erie, PA.

Yes, and they play in a nice little off campus arena that seats around 1000. They're going to be impressed by the two venues they'll play in this weekend. Regarding Murray and his probable start this weekend. He could be excused, after reading Gwoz' quotes, for thinking to himself "who do we have to play for Coach to guarantee me a start, Cheyenne Wells?" :D
