DU never gets more than about 100 people to bare the hardship of sitting in that cement toilet bowl down there. I'm sure it's easier for the AF faithful to make the drive.

I've been to a ton of college hockey rinks (nowhere near Swami's number, mind you, but still a bunch), and I will say that World Arena is still one of my favorites. Not just because "my" team plays there. It has roomier seats than most, easier access than most (in terms of getting in and out of the building, the parking lots, quick access to I-25, etc), and there isn't a bad seat in the place. You should go to BU's beautiful new arena. Great place until you have to wedge yourself into the tiny seats that are made for people who are about 5' 6" and 120 lbs. Anyway, CSWA may not be as pretty as some of the buildings, but I think it's a great place to watch a game and I'm proud of it.

Wow! Hats off to the Cadets. They played us tough for the entire game. I love your rink--I had a blast yelling at the DU players and the refs--they can actually hear you since the rink is so small. I love the atmosphere--very family oriented. AFA fans were very polite and put up with all my loud yelling.

George said in the post game that AF was in the best shape of any team we've played all year--agreed, they worked incredibly hard all night. Absolutely smoked us on face offs. Our guys kept getting kicked out--Atlantic hockey refs are much tighter on faceoffs and our guys could adjust. They also call icing differently--much truer in theory although they messed many calls up on each side.

DU's PP went 0-4 and looked sloppy at best. AF fore and poke checked us tight all night and made us pass the puck frantically. AF did amazing job shutting down our first line--RR had no shots on net, has to be the first time that's happened all season. Anthony M continued to shine. Loved Matt's goal in the second--he smoked it by Volkening top shelf. Chevy was the reason we could steal it in OT. I would have been content with the tie the way AF played us.

Ruggs' effort in the OT made the game winner happen. He dogged the AF D man not once but twice and then fed K.O for the KO off of the Cadet into the net. AF can hold their heads high--they played a great game and it was very enjoyable to watch.

I sat next to a guy who saw the AF/CC game Friday and he said AF looked like a completely different team against DU.

The pios not only went through two straight weeks on the road from hell and emerged with 5 of a possible 8 points AT Wisconson (Tie and Loss) and North Dakota (2 wins), but they just beat AF in OT in Colorado Springs, completing a weekend, non-league sweep!!
No offense Univ. of Ohio, but the depth of the WCHA vs. the JV league they are in is of no compare.

I think being just below one is a perfect place to be. If we're one, we'd get AF in the first round of the tourney (if they win the Atlantic tourney). I'm content to leave them to the Redhawks.
