Canadian National Team

Re: Canadian National Team

With less than a month to go till the opening ceremonies the NWT begins their last leg of road games against the Alberta AAA midget boys circuit traveling north to Edmonton, Ft Saskatchewan, Llyodminister, then back to Calgary to finish out with two games concluding on January 29th against the Flames (no...not those Flames).

Hockey Canada has a site where you can email your favorite player with best wishes prior to the Olympics.

Let`s get in behind our girls and let them know we want Gold!

Here's the important question:

Will there be anything left of Canada if the USA places better at Vancouver after the US has won the world junior title this year, the 18U worlds title last year, and the 17U world title this year:cool:

USA BABY!!!

I doubt that's going to happen however if by some "miracle" it does...I would expect that there will be a lot more Canadians following curling. :)

Curling is probably the most watched sport in Canada, next to hockey.

I can tell your dieing to know so.... since curling was re-introduced to the Olympics in 1998, Canada is ranked # 1, winning 2 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze in both men's and women's competition. The USA won 1 bronze medal on the men's side in 2006 in Turin....so there. :)

GO Canada...Hurray Hard!

5 4 Fighting,

I am in the process of making a donation online and I don't know how to answer one of the questions. Will you please check your rep? Thank you!

Yup the gold medallists from Torino are from my neck of the woods. So disappointed that they didn't get a chance to repeat but happy with their result last week.

Re: Canadian National Team

If interested, I have photos posted (at long last!) from the December 30th Canada v. USA game played in St. Paul, MN. Thought Labonte looked awesome in goal and Haley Irwin made us UMD fans proud with her goal that night!

Re: Canadian National Team

The Canadian Olympic Women's Team are on their way home to finish out the last 2 games of their 31 game midget schedule playing the Calgary Royals on Jan 27th and the Calgary Flames (no...not those Flames) on the 29th.

The gals have garnered a 20-9-0 record so far against the midgets and my understanding is in each of the games there was SRO in the small community rinks that they played in. Great way to tune up their game and spread the love around.

Puck drops on their first game against the Slovak's on Feb 13th @ 5:00pm PST.
